  1. The cost to send my CD's off to have them ripped is too much. But I don't want to buy a ripper that I'll use for a few days at most. Is it possible to rent one somewhere online or maybe from another forum member?
  2. Computer audio newb here. Had most of my 3000+ CDs stored digitally years ago, but the hard drive got corrupt at one point. Never got around to ripping my CDs again and ended up getting rid of all of my HiFi equipment when I moved into a tiny apartment. I'm finally building out a listening room/office in my place and really want to digitize my library so I can access it throughout my house. My listening room setup is B&W PM1's powered by a McIntosh MAC6700 receiver. The sales guy who sold me these also sold me a Sonus and said I should just get a Mac Mini to store the CDs and an external hard drive to rip them. I did enjoy the Sonus app interface, but I'm wondering if this is the best setup. I can always return the Sonus. I'd probably wanna keep the budget under $3-4K if I do go with different equipment, but would rather spend the bulk of that money on a sub woofer or better turntable/more LP's if possible though the digital setup is higher priority right now. We're an all Mac household if that matters. I want to be able to rip & play with minimal fuss, but can tolerate some manual effort if it will get me better sound long term. I really want to be able to control the music from my iPad if possible or at least something with a similar interface. I'm looking for your advice on better options on equipment (everything I'll need) and process for ripping/storing everything (e.g. best file format(s), best way to get digital art for everything I rip, efficiency hacks, tweaks, etc). All advice appreciated. Thanks!
