Having just stumbled out of a sublime performance by Richard Goode and the BFO/Iván Fischer of the Beethoven G Major, I'm wondering why the only downloads I can find of their Beethoven cycle are MP3s (Nonesuch). I find him very workmanlike. Competent at its most complement level of competence. In other words, rather dull. But I buy his recordings because the sound is so good. But then I'm listening to audio, not to music, if you know what I mean.

I got bored with this thread the moment I started it. And yet, here it is, all these weeks later, still going strong.

Depends on what you like. You can pick up a used Exogal Comet in the price-range. Hard to beat, IMHO.
