I went through this exercise many years back on my old G4 and found Nyquist (in conjunction with AudioHijack): http://magnus.smartelectronix.com/#NyquistEq It was a little clunky, but fantastic, and let me hit very specific, narrow ranges I found durring a sweep of my setup. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten it to work on my current intel mac. The problem I had with AUParametricEQ was that I couldn't precisely dial in the frequency with the slider (and no keyboard input available). I even saved some presets and opened up the .fxpreset in plist editor, but all the settings are in a key as a (to me) undecipherable character string. Has anyone else come up with a solution to this problem? A cheap (free), precise parametricEQ for OSX? thanks!
