You could try HW Monitor it is free. I find all the information I am looking for with that simple free app. It may no be 100% accurate but it is close to reality. It will display your processor information as well as your gpu info. I find it useful. HWMONITOR | Softwares | CPUID

I totally agree. The single greatest achievement for version 5 is the dramatic drop in cpu usage across the board with every setting. I was thinking of upgrading my cpu before this version but now there is no reason to do so. My cpu is positively sleeping though all settings. I can even run a few at 1024 DSD but that is an unnecessary stretch. At 512 everything runs easily with no strain at all. This is on a Windows 11 system with a Ryzen 5800X. Hardly the latest and greatest but more than enough. It sounds as good as ever and has some new modulators to play with as well. Very nice upgrade,

If your on Windows that info is stored in the user apps folder/local and does not seem to be touched in the upgrade.

Just go into your HQP V4 folder and click on uninstall. In windows you will find it in the Windows Programs folder on your boot drive. Then install version 5. Since you have the image for version 4 somewhere on your computer you can reverse the process if you wish. I think it is going to cause problems to have both versions installed at the same time.

So in spite of the VAT charge I went ahead and bought version 5. There is no VAT here in Thailand for oversea purchase. This is a first. Anyway, It sounds better than version 4 and I cannot understand why but it is using far less load on my AMD 5800X cpu. I have used ASDM7ECv3 and the cpu load is half what it was in ASDM7ECV2 of your version 4. I tried other modulators quickly with the same results much lower cpu load per core. Vastly reduced load on the cpu. I haven't even bothered to try your "Light" versions as I can't see the need. I'm happy.

I raised the question about the new 7000 amd Ryzen cpu's but got no answer. So I will make my question more specific. Does the presence of the 3D cache improve performance in HQP or is it strictly a gaming issue? Example would be the new 7800x3D/ Is that 3D cache going to bring better results with HQP or does improvement rest mostly with the choice of GPU and Cuda?

Its upgrade time for me and I am an AMD fan. My Windows 11 computer currently uses a 5800x cpu. I am looking at the 7000 series and confused about the best cpu for HQP. I would appreciate any advice on the best AMD 7000 series for HQP. I am interested in if the 3D variant of these cpu's will bring better results in HQP or I should go with something like the basic Ryzen 9 7900 for better heat control. I do not game. I use my computers for browser and HQP mostly. Any suggestions would be appreciated. My graphics card is a 3060TI and considering the crazy pricing I don't intend to change that until or unless prices get more reasonable. Suggestions?

I have the upgrade bug and I have been looking at the new AM5 cpu's. I am currently running with the 5800x. Just wondering if Miska has any comments on what works best with HQP in the new Ryzen AM5 lineup?

I have the Ares II with HQP. I did the firmware update recently. I use the Ares II in nos mode with HQP for more than a year. Now with this firmware upgrade it is like a new much better dac. I can only imagine that the Pontus firmware upgrade which just became available is as dramatic. Vinshine claims that the firmware upgrade resolves the nos issue. It also raises the Ares II to a much higher level. I have no doubt that the Pontus will also get a major boost. I have a lot of confidence in a company that offers such a major upgrade for free to it's users.

Time for an off the wall question. Does Nvidia Resizing Bar video setting have any effect on HQP performance. This is only available in 30 and 40 series cards. I am aware that it can have a positive effect, gain, in some current games. I am not aware if this technology has any effect on performance as it relates to HQP? Perhaps Jussi could comment.

I am considering upgrading my computer. Possibly new motherboard and cpu. From the comments above I am concerned my license will not be functional? I have only the one desktop computer. Would I need to replace the license key?

Miska, Since you brought it up do you have any comment on the Gustard R26 in DSD direct mode used with HQP? Is the R26 a good match for HQP when used in DSD mode?

So yesterday Microsoft had one of their Windows 11 updates. After that update all the covers in HQP load instantly as they had in previous versions of HQP. The problem of the delayed loading of covers is totally solved. Must have been a Windows 11 issue. Interesting how that happened. Also curious how that solution directly followed the HQP update although I am certain Microsoft is not paying attention to HQP updates.
