  1. The fuse is located on the back of the DAC, near the power cord. Use a small screwdriver to pry off the fuse holder lid.
  2. Yes I have done this voltage change myself. Be sure to look at Holo Spring website for instructions on which screws to remove to access the switch voltage selector(220V to 110V). The fuse size is 5mm by 20mm, slow blow. Your current fuse is 2A for 220 voltage. This will need to be replaced with a 4A fuse for use at 110 voltage. Don’t worry about the slight difference in 110 and 120 voltage, it is all the same.
  3. I hate monopolies! Thanks you so much for posting this article.
  4. Last week I reached my 500 hours of actual playing/break-in time with the Kitsune level 3 Holo Spring DAC and sat back to access the sound quality. Not having every much experience myself with other DAC and knowing Tim Connor claims, to his ears this DAC competes with the best DACs available at any price, I sat back and said to myself "So this is the current state of the art in DAC sound quality". Certainly the sound quality was good at the DAC asking price but I remember thinking DAC technology still needs some ways to go to compete with the best moving coils. Today with an additional 200hrs of on time, I swear the Holo DAC is sounding better than last week. It's more relax and at ease than last week while maintaining that fast dynamic sound as always, obviously the Jensen Caps are taking a long time to break in. And now for once, I can understand the appeal of people spending $10,000 or $15,000 on other companies R2R DACs if the sound quality is also headed in that same direction and beyond. That relax extended open dynamic sound quality is addictive.
  5. Long before ever buying the Holo Spring R2R DAC, I had high hopes for DSD's reported analog sound signature. But like many other actual user, I too became disenchanted with DSD overly soft dynamics. I think the problem has something to do with how Delta Sigma DAC handles DSD. With the Holo Spring DAC, the few DSD files I do have sound every bit as dynamic as my PCM HiRes files. Now, I have no second thoughs about buying DSD recordings.
  6. One thing I would like to see in a future release of the Lightning DS app is the ability to access the attached USB thumb drive on the Aries from an iPad much like we can do now from a Mac/Windows PC as a shared drive to edit or add downloaded music files. The way things are run now is that the iPad is ideal for browsing and selecting music files while sitting back on your music chair but if i want to download some music from the internet, I need to barrow my wife's MacBook laptop. Getting rid of the need for a laptop all together would be great.
  7. My Aries is now sending a DSD signal to my DAC. I had to enable the DSD over PCM(DoP) in the Lightning controls.
  8. I also download LDS ver. 4.0, everything is working well but when I play DSD 64 files the display on my DAC says 88.2K. Wondering if the Aries is down sampling DSD to 88.2K.
  9. Just one other suggestion. You can reset the Aries to factory settings by pressing the reset button on the bottom of the case with a tooth pick while the Aries is on.
  10. 2string1, you might try unplugging the USB drive then plugging it back in while the Aries is on. This will force the Aries to recognize the USB drive.
  11. Mani, this de-glitching debate has all of a sudden become very interesting. Please do make those glitching/de-glitching files available to us.
  12. This last month review of the Schiit Yggy said the Yggy is as good as the Bricasti M1. Schiit Yggdrasil | Headphone.Guru
  13. I’m planning on buying my Yggy within the next two months. Since my Auralic Aries already has an AES/EBU output that’s what I’m going to use to connect directly to the Yggy. Have already bought myself an AES/EBU cable, Wireworld 0.5 meter Starlight.
  14. SPDIF(RCA,BNC,TOS) as well as USB have an input receiver. Does the AES/EBU input in the Yggy also have an input receiver? Just asking.
  15. Another nice Yggy review, incase anyone miss it. Schiit Yggdrasil | Headphone.Guru
