  1. Maybe, but that 20K input impedance is abnormally low for most amps. And the Freya lacked "drive", not at all like my VTA SP14 delivers in spades. YMMV, but overhyped....
  2. After a long test period, I got rid of my Schiit.... The Vidar's very low input impedance of only 20k ohms loaded down my preamp, and the Freya couldn't drive my amp properly, no balls.....Sounded like a good deal, but alas no free lunch.
  3. Just want to comment that I'm running a Theta GenV(a) DAC through the Freya and on to the Vidar, driving Maggie 3.6r or PBN Montana EPS speakers. My listening room is 40' by 17' by 15' (10,200 cubic feet), and this setup plays beautifully and at high volumes with no audible distortion. Alternatively, I use my VTA M125 tube monoblocks; also magnificent. I feel no need to add a second Vidar, but may do so "just because". The Freya compares most favorably to the BAT VK-51SE it replaced, at a fraction of the cost. Don't make the mistake of confusing Schiit with "starter" components just because they're priced like them!
  4. Pity, I've been playing Tidal HiFi for years, from three different moves without a glitch. Suggest those with problems go back to square one with your systems......
  5. Gee, it sure seems that was the whole point of your article....,,,
  6. I love what you do on this site. But as a professional musician (not as a rawk guitar operator), I'd like to feel that I've earned a point of view. The "solution" may not rest in 40-50 year old rawk offerings, remastered for the umpteeth time. But to each his own.
  7. "David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Blind faith, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, and Prince" Why in the world would anyone sully a high-end system with this rubbish?
  8. All, please be aware that "HiFi" Tidal (CD resolution) is now $12 per month if on active duty OR a vet. I've been on that plan since last November.
  9. Bob, thanks but that was me, boatheelmusic. Love that Tidal!!
  10. Your ipad and iphone, as ios devices, stream using airplay to an airplay "receiver" to stream to your mac mini, an os/x device, install Airserver on it so Airplay can see it. then stream Tidal, spotify or whatever from your ipad or iphone to your mac mini.
  11. Lo and behold - just put up again at Massdrop: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/grace-design-m920
  12. Not sure who you're asking, but I think worth every penny of $1,895, and a screaming deal when Massdrop offers at $1,395 periodically. No guarantees they'll be offered at that price again. I continue to be very happy with mine.
