  1. Will do. After I create one how will I see where it is located so I can put that info in Lightning DS app for Lightning server to find the files? Never mind. It's in the instructions. Thanks again.
  2. I created a folder in file station and named it minimserver. Inside of that folder I created a folder for each band. Inside that folder I created a folder for the album. From there I dragged and dropped the song files from my external HD connected to my Mac mini to the NAS. I did it this way because it would not allow me move the folder from external HD to NAS. It only allowed me to move song files. Hope that came across well enough to understand. As you can probably tell I'm not the best with computers. Thanks for helping.
  3. To answer your first question, I'm not sure. I'm currently using minimserver on the NAS. Does that mean I have a shared folder?
  4. Sorry for the newb like question. I've recently setup my first NAS, Synology DS216J, and need help getting it setup to Lightning Server. How do I find the network drive path to my NAS to get this setup? TIA
  5. Updated my Mac mini and so far so good with minimserver while Mac is asleep. On a side note I placed an order for a Synology DS216J today.
  6. Looked for it but could not find it. Maybe I made it up. Only thing I saw was NAS was better because of speed. Could swear I read it somewhere. Put my Mac mini in never sleep mode and everything works as it used to so it is definetly when it goes to sleep causing the issue. That being said I'm getting drop outs on my AAM for the first time ever.
  7. I'm not sure why Lightning DS doesn't like an external HD either but it says in the instructions it is not preferred. I can confirm it does not. I had it scan my files once and worked for a couple of days but soon after it stopped recognizing them and o haven't been able to get it to work again since.
  8. I'm sure that is probably a simple solution but reading that seems to be more than I have knowledge of. It used to work fine and now it doesn't. Only reason I think the computer sleeping is causing this is because it definetly does with Asset. Just trying the free trial and thought maybe there was an issue with minimserver. I'll try that forum. Just thought maybe someone here had a similar issue. Think I'm going to get a NAS to run minimserver on soon so that may fix my issue also. Plus I'll be able to use Lighning DS for my AAM. It doesn't seem to like to use the external HD connected to my MM.
  9. I think minimserver is stopping when my Mac mini goes to sleep. I haven't had this issue until a month ago or so. Any ideas on how to correct this issue? TIA
  10. May be a dumb question ,but since I'm in the market and eyeing a Chird Mojo, what is the benefit of a balanced DAC?
  11. I've had the same issue in the past. Hopefully I'm telling you correct as I'm a bit limited on knowledge when it comes to networks and such. What I've done is run my mini in wireless mode and connected via 5ghz. That seems to have corrected my issue.
  12. True. I have a NaimUniti 2b and it's great. A very simple one box solution that sounds great. My Aries Mini does sound great connected to Dynaudio XEO 3 and I'm curious how it would sound through a Naim SuperNait 2 but the Uniti is a wonderful piece of kit.
  13. Ok. In Airport utility it shows both 2.4 and 5ghz. It does show the Aries on 5ghz.
