  1. I don't have the answer for you. However, I am curious to know what dac supports 64 bit? Thank you!
  2. Thanks ZB for the info and setting recommendations, and Adnaco looks interesting. Btw, silly me, in fact I can just jplay any HiRes from the PC to HMS via USB to verify any connectivity issues.
  3. Thanks for the prompt reply! I also realised that you had a Matrix Audio Element H USB card, I guess it's better than the onboard USB port.
  4. I've the Chord Qutest and HMS, and I still want to keep the HMS. And, Windows 10 with 32GB RAM, with Jplay installed. I need to purchase 2TB SSD to improve the processing performance. My music collections are mainly redbook format. My question is: Can I output the PGGB files to HMS via USB, and DUAL BNCs to Qutest? Thank you! P/S: The Qutest is 7m away from the HMS, and PC is just next tot he HMS.
  5. Is there such a product? If yes, please recommend. TIA To install onto a desktop and output 384 from each BNC out.
  6. I changed the 1TB HD to 2TB, and brought a chord dac.
  7. Just like a computer, I am able to play the music after a reboot.
  8. I have updated the sony with new firmware. Don't rescan the HD where possible. I believe it will take at least three weeks to complete the sense me cataloguing for my 800gb music files. And during this period, I am not able to play any music from the sony, for some reason.
  9. I have these lines for years, not one but two, and no big deal!
  10. I bought a chord qutest dac few months ago, and the dac was wonderful! What the Sony just did it part to supply bit perfect to the dac, and the dac will do the rest! Therefore no way the Sony will be obsoleting. The next upgrade will be adding a chord hugo m scaler, the game changer, and the Sony still play an important role. Chord hugo m scaler Last, I have disabled the analogue component of the Sony and no heat generation even 24/7.
  11. Now we are going into which best driving a pair of speakers.
  12. No m scaler discussion here? We shall ditch this thread.
  13. I have changed the internal HD to 2TB. Easy! I also converted the Sony to transport, i.e. disable the aualgue power supply from the power board. Easy too! The heats were greatly reduced. I'm ripping all my CD collections, optimisationally, to the Sony. I.e. 1. battery powered the external disk drive. 2. Cold start the external disk drive after every single rip, to initialise the RAM. 3. Two ground boxes were deployed. 4. The external disk driver was secured to symphonic ultra platform. And my chord electronic Qutest just arrived. Will connect it tomorrow. My next upgrade is chord electronics Hugo M Scaler i.e. Sony ->HMS-> Qutest.
  14. It's very simple, no mod required. Just disconnect the connectors. Maybe less interference because 1/2 of the internal boards are disable. I don't have a dac yet. http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html
