  1. When you enable exclusive access, does the volume control of fidelia syncs with system volume( dac of mac) or the system volume locks at the volume it was before and you can only change the dithered volume???

    Fidelia 1.5

Thanks Melvin. I havent tried the beta. I am still using 1.5.2. I think that I have read on their website that they will give lots of love in interface and library management in the upcoming version 2!

Are there any noticeable improvements in 1.5.3? I have the App Store version and the update is not available yet.

It's not enthusiasm.. I can specify it for you. I have amarra 2.6 , bitperfect 2.01, audirvana plus 1.5.10, pure music 1.89g and no one of these players can become my standard without returning back to fidelia.

Maybe 1.5.0 could be a bit more transparent...But still fidelia is untouchable by any other similar software in terms of sound quality.

Yes.Corey knows about this thread... I had sent him the link, when I had the problem with alac files.

Richard now you're touching on one of the impressions I have about 1.5. I was trying to provoke some comments in my post #29. There is no doubt in my mind that 1.5 is more transparent than the beta 1.4 I was using prior, but seems somewhat light in body in the top end. Simililarly I feel the bottom end is lacking in weight and ultimate extension. I am prevented from being wholly convinced. Presently I am playing with mEqualiser plugin. Pink noise suggested a slightly rising response. I have inserted a small fall in top end response and a rise in the bottom end. I am on my iPad at present and will post a screen capture later. Actually Liam, I think 1.4.0b9 is brighter sounding...But definately 1.3.1 was the darkest sounding of all though less transparent.

Try enabling dither 24mbit with shape: none , amount: normal. Among the isotope presets select intermediate phase or minimum phase. They tend to give more natural results. The default is linear phase which is a little bit harsh and bright. My personal preference : Dither settings as mentioned above. Exclusive access mode on, Memory play on and in the advanced isotope settings, I use a combination of gentle filter and intermediate phase, which is filter steepness 3, cut off scaling 1, pre ringing 0.5.Set your device sample rate to maximum supported, just to be sure isotope src is used. But try it also with match song. Ideally pre ringing should be set to 0 to produce minimum phase results, though if you choose minimum phase filter( pre ringing is not desirable, because it is audible by our ears) you may experience a moderately reduced sound stage(maybe due to highs being more dark/less prominent) , at least this is how I perceive the final result.

Here is a list of what I have tried so far. Delete the preference file. Delete the app and reinstalling it. SMC and PRAM reset. Delete background apps.( I don't have many just 2) As far as trying to stop services, I do not know which are useful and how to stop them, so I have not taken that path. Used onyx to make a thorough clean of my system. Tried repairing disk permissions. Thing is that non of them worked. I own fidelia from version 1.2.1. Until 1.3.1 never had such problem. So it is not my system. It is something changed in the new fidelia that causes this conflict. When I first reported this they told me this is a known issue happening to osx lion users... But I was using maverics at the moment and mountain lion before... As far as the isolated issue, 2 out of 3 people I have asked here have the same problem with me... They told me that they are sorry that cannot reproduce my problem. Did they bother trying their app on other macs? I don't care what mac, find a mac which has this issue with the app and examine it. I even sent them the error that was constantly appearing on the console when I was playing alac with hog and built in and they didn't know what to do. It was strange to them. I don't know...Maybe in a year from now, because this is how long it takes them to update fidelia we will see a fix...

So Melvin, can you too also try alac with built in output plus hog. I am trying to make a case here!

    Fidelia 1.5

Exactly... Otherwise put it in your product description that you need external dac in order for your program to operate properly..

Yes, it doesn't work either. I have reported to them that we are discussing this issue here...
