  1. You may want to check out this article https://www.bobdylanisis.com/bob-dylan-remastered/ and especially the list at the end where the author present his listing of the best sound quality versions of Bob Dylan’s albums on CD. It takes some time to check against your own collection on CD, SACD and NAS 😅
  2. Hi -  logging in with a new laptop.

  3. I agree. However, it is not easy to find anymore. I managed - with the help of Amazon - to locate and buy a used SACD from within the EU. Still very good condition and now I can enjoy my fresh rip of the SACD! Thanks for the tip!
  4. What a great story, Rajiv, from a very special occasion! Does it get any better? Two of my favorite music and audiophile writers get together and visit an event where a favorite orchestra and conductor are in a session recorded by one of my favorite recording labels using favorite recording and AD conversion gear! And then they give us this treat! Well done, Rajiv and Chris! And thank you both, again!
  5. Yesterday, I just happened to hear a piece from this album on the radio. And today I have found the album on Qobuz. Sublime sound quality (Proprius) and masterly played guitar music - in fact on this album you can find all the composer's works for solo guitar. I have found a new guitar idol! Georg Gulyas!
  6. A new release from Esbjörn Svensson - many years after his tragic death in a diver's accident. Great piano sound from his grand piano at home.
  7. After reading a little more about the Ayre CX7 cd player, I keep wondering if it still is possible to get a factory uppgrade. The guys at Stereophile had a lot of good things to say about the CX7 as a one box solution back in the 00's. And a factory upgrade was mentioned - at about the same price level as you mention.
  8. It just comes to my mind that it is possible to use a special cable (Mogami 3080 AES/EBU 110Ω RCA to Female XLR Digital Cable × 1) from the source to a dac like RME ADI-2 FS DAC which is closer to the price range that your friend is aiming at. It is the very competent little sister of RME ADI-2 FS Pro BE. The RCA input of the dac is AES/EBU compliant so it will happily receive the signal from the CD source (with the help of the special cable mentioned).
  9. At that price level, or rather a bit higher, I would look at Gustard X26 Pro which has an AES/EBU input as well as many other. Another option could be to look for a pre-owned Exogal Comet Pro - if you can live with the fact that it is is discontinued and the firm tragically disappeared. A bit higher up you have RME ADI-2 FS Pro BE.
  10. A little confused...? In a good way or bad way? Please tell us more!
  11. Some nice Bach harpichord music to accompany the raindrops outside my window...
  12. I quote a reviewer over at Amazon: Like many other releases, the DVD and CD have different track listings and running orders. The CD has two tracks not on the DVD: a live version of "Fly Me to the Moon" and the bonus studio track of Billy Joel's "Just the Way You Are." The Canadian CD also features a track called "Charmed Life." The DVD tracks not included on the CD are: "All or Nothing At All," "Cry Me a River," "I Get Along Without You Very Well," "Pick Yourself Up," "Love Letters," "I Don't Know Enough About You," and "Do It Again" (not the Steely Dan hit or The Beach Boys song). The DVD also features music videos for "The Look of Love" and "Let's Face the Music and Dance," and rehearsal footage of "Do It Again," "The Look of Love," and "Love Letters."
  13. This album has been a long-time favorite for me, too. I am right now listening to the Live in Paris show on DVD (audio in 24/48). I must say it sounds way better than the CD and/or the ripped flac16 files. And there are more songs to enjoy on the DVD than on the CD and the SACD.
