  1. Another Red data point to add- - From order to receipt took just under 6 weeks, as promised - History - I used to use various HiFiBerry and Allo streamers. When the Shanti for my Allo DigiOne Sig/USB Sig died (eats fuses) I didn't want to invest in two new power supplies for the Allo. So I picked up an Ifi Zen Stream through my employer with bonus points earned from coworkers. The ZS could not connect to the network when an EtherRegen was used from A(optical) to B, but connected instantly when going from A(opt) to A (RJ45). The ZS could never pass DSD256 from Roon or HQP, and its web interface was unable to keep the DAC (Michi P5) in Direct DSD mode, always switching automatically to DoP. The ZS was able to pass DSD256 with no problem into a Gustard A20 and Mytek Brooklyn+. - Based on these minor connection glitches, and a comment online that the Red was not compatible w/ the Michi, I was a little worried. But the Red connected perfectly, even with EtherRegen from A(opt) to B, and does DSD256 all day, no issues. Still w/ stock Red SW. Sounds great and I like not having to spend $$ on an external power supply. So, happy Red user here. No connection issues with Michi P5. Have tried as NAA and Roon device - very stable.
  2. In my job as an analytical chemist, if I were to promote a new technology to my company that never had a chance of succeeding and was subsequently found out to be scam from the beginning, while investing no time to understand whether this tech was real or not, I'd be out on the street. Any chance that any of the writers who brought such embarrassment to their publications, with their lack of journalistic integrity and technical chops, will be treated like to rest of us?
  3. Update - My Zen Stream has no problem doing DSD256 into my Gustard and Mytek dacs - just not the Michi P5 which is unfortunately the place I wanted to use it. Sounds great w/ upsampled PCM though.
  4. Everything else about the unit itself has been great - Stable, sounds great, nice case, connectors etc.
  5. I have the necessary USB drivers installed. I have no problem getting DSD256 to the Rotel using the Allo gear but the iFi is limited to 128, at least on my system and others I read about. Not sure if the Dac or streamer is supposed to enablew Direct DSD communication.
  6. My Zen Stream is unable to pass DSD256 (Roon upsampling) to my Rotel Michi P5. An Allo USBridge Sig can do this without issue. Apparently the ZS is forcing DoP (it will not accept the Direct DSD setting, always falling back immediately to DoP) which limits to DSD128. Not surprised that their advertising doesn't clearly state "DSD256 into some DACs only, even if they are capable of Direct DSD and you have used your DAC in this way previously. You must buy the product and try it to see if the advertised capabilities will be available." Doesn't have much of a ring to it! I have a Ticket in w/ iFi to see if anything can be done. Disappointing - I thought I had a long-term solution here but nope. Buyers- make sure the unit works as advertised while you are still in the return period because it just might not do what it was promised to do, and what less expensive competing products can do easily in your system. 7. Is it easy to transfer a license from one PC to another? (And stop using the original PC) I hope to replace this PC in a few months so I keep waiting to put the $$ version on this old PC. But if it's simple to transfer the license to a new PC, that'd be good Thanks
  8. So if one wants to get a Fitlet3 for use an an NAA, what's the appropriate configuration? I assume fastest CPU. How much RAM needed? Any additional memory needed if only for NAA use? Does it need any OS? etc. I hope they post the fiber option on the configurator page, or we confirm that there is some way to order it. Thanks very much
  9. Very much agree, Bot. I have never once in my life been to a live, amplified music event and wished my system sounded like that. Why limit ourselves to trying to recreate the live experience when we can do so much better?
  10. Hi Allo Support, My Shanti blows its fuse as soon as it is powered up, even with nothing attached. Can you please confirm the rating? I believe it is 250V 500 mA, fast blow. Is it possible to substitute a more substantial fuse? Is there any else I can check, or another way to test the Shanti it to see what's up? Thanks very much, Mike
  11. Sound United was purchased (via $800 million dollar loan) by an Italian medical device company who wants to use the SU brand's access to tech customers to sell their wearable medical device technology. That is, once they win their lawsuit against Apple and they become the only company in the world allowed to obtain medical info via wearable tech. What could go wrong?
  12. Let's hope that B&W has a healthy long-term future, as they are now owned by a medical device company. I think that will take a lot of hoping...
