  1. Hi Robert, I had my Carbon built for me, so I have not run into this problem. I'm using the SoTM multi-rail power supply for the mother board and separately for the SoTM USB card. Kenny
  2. Windows 8 is automatically updating the drivers for new hardware. After, starting up and not having sound again, I saw that the previous driver that I uninstalled was back! The driver that I downloaded from SOtM was replaced. I found the Windows setting to stop that, so hopefully all is good.
  3. Previously my iPad connected perfectly with iPeng to my Squeezebox Touch, so no weird network issues. The SBT is gone and has been replaced with the CAPS Carbon which is now working perfectly, and I have downloaded the JRemote app. In MC 19, I have ticked, Use Media Network to share this library and enable DLNA. This has assigned my Access Key. In the JRemote set up, I tried connecting with the Access Key, but nothing happens after clicking Done on the iPad keyboard, so no message, error, nothing. The same exact thing happens when I try connecting with the IP Address option. The iPad accesses the Internet just fine. Am I missing something?
  4. Thanks everyone, I am playing my DAC through the Carbon. It all works after installing the SOtM drivers from SOtM. The Windows 7 driver from Eastern Electric obviously works.
  5. That's how the download site displayed it. Perhaps, that's why went I tried to update the driver in Device Manager, it told me I already had the latest driver.
  6. I looked up and researched the driver version (6.3.9600.16459) for the TI USB 3.0 Host Controller that has the Device Manager problem. The download for that version is listed as Windows 8.1 64-Bit. Could this be the problem with my 32-Bit System?
  7. There seems to be a number of iterations of SOtM sites. Do you know which one I can get the drivers from? Thanks.
  8. No, I'm running Windows 8 as in your Carbon design spec. So, as built by Small Green Computer.
  9. Okay, I'm going to run away now and try. I'll post the outcome later. Thanks!
  10. Chris, are you saying because my DAC is using a Windows 7 driver, that I need to install the SOtM drivers?
  11. I did not realize I had to do that. My DAC is USB 2.0, but I was told this would work with the SOtM, right?
  12. That really helps. I also don't know why I don't get sound from the other USB ports.
  13. Any help appreciated! I just purchased my CAPS v3 Carbon from Small Green Computer. My DAC is an Eastern Electric MiniMax Plus. I installed the driver for the DAC, but it's Windows 7. I also installed Media Center 19 and that's working. However, the MiniMax will not show up under Audio Device in MC, and it will not show up under Device Manager (Control Panel) despite restarts, etc. Whether, I use the motherboard's USB ports or the SOtM USB port, there is no sound. I tried the other Audio Device choices recommended by MC (WASPI, Direct Sound), but no luck. I keep my files on a Synology NAS and originally set up the Library from there, but after that didn't work I tried the same from the Carbon's SSD. Still no success. I do have one problem with the Carbon out-of-the-box that may actually be normal for its setup, but not sure. I asked Andrew with Small Green Computer, but he was not sure either, so maybe this community can help. When I go under Device Manager for Universal Serial Bus Controllers, there is the yellow caution icon for Texas Instruments USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller. The comment reads, This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. I clicked to update driver, but Windows reported that it has the latest driver. I was hoping that maybe someone here could identify my problem, or perhaps someone is successfully using my MiniMax DAC with their Carbon, and can help me set it up.
