  1. hum, that's good to know, I love the sound of the iDSD with my TH900 MK2 (with forza audio hybrid noir cable 4.4mm);, but knowing that this option with the WE396a exist, it's good.
  2. I have had the chance to compare three DAC/amp lately, two I owned for quite a time, and a new dac, the Woo Audio WA88 eclipse. It's by essence a transportable DAC, but the price range (nearly 2K) make it a not so bad way to compare how my music sound, with three headphones: Fostex TH900MK2, AUdeze LCD GX, Alambic Ears Noosa custom IEM. The iDSD is superior , it's not a huge gap, but the music flows so much more freely. the woo audio is very suprising, but due to it's true tube nature, and battery powered dac/amp. Headphone amp wise, 1/ iDSD pro signature 2/ Woo audio WA 3/ Mytek Brooklyn bridge .
  3. On my side, my fanless setup is performing good, even if so far, I use it without any tweaks, except the Jcat LAN CARD. I9 9900KS, asus maximus XI Z590, and 16Go of apache ram. The weak part is the PSU, a fanless seasonic 450W that sits outside of the passive case (HD plex). But did that created an upgrade compare to my "before"? yes without a doubt. That is why I'm going to keep it as a base, and improve it with everything that is on this incredible thread and forum:)
  4. If you can find one second hand, I would highly recommande an Audeze LCD GX. It's quite incredible, the only downside is: it's an open headphone, so if people around you like silence and a quiet place, they are going to hate ou (as my wife is:D)
  5. Ha ha ha, even more because my surround speakers are Iguascu EVO:) and btw, despite the look, they sound incredibly well, Athom speakers are really nice little things
  6. For me, it has always been about how well one can integrate his own passions onto a life where one is not alone. For HIFI, and this goes as well for Home Cinema, it means also how well can we integrate things into a living space, because not everyone can have a spare room to play with. From there, one can call it WAF or something else, it's about alchemy and compromise:) On my side, it was achieved first by chosing a loudspeaker that can look good in our living space, that is why I have those Waterfall Victoria EVO for 16 years now, and no intention on changing them:)
  7. I have tested my iphone 11 pro max with a MOJO, wich a lightning to usb cable. And the sound was really nice. I suspect with a very good amp/dac, result could be quite good.
  8. Man times I have heard that Senn HD800 and 800S are among the very top three of gaming headphones. I have a LCD GX, that is powered by a SB X7, and frankly speaking, for gaming, it's quite incredible. Better than my TH900MK2 for sure.
  9. you are welcome. I don't post often, because i'm in the middle of a huge re organisation in my life. But before buying, I have search quite a lot about what to buy, because I had nearly 3K euro for that, which is for me a huge amount of money and I wanted to be as sure as one can be without listening to a dac prior to buy it. So I had the chance to listen to good dac (without amp) in the 3K range, to headphone amp, with my fostex TH900. And most of the listening where from good to bad. The TH900 can be bright, and for example, the violectric amp was a no go, the burson one also no go. With my mytek, it was really nice, as it is, per essence, a neutral and quite "soft" dac. But the iDSD is something else, not warm (the tube influence is "light"), but it got more presence, and despite the TH900 beeing a close headphone, the stage is actually really large. And I repeat, it's not a bright dac, not fatiguing. But as it is revealing, it sound as bad as the recording can be, which is common for most dac of course. Point to mention : USB 3.1 connexion can be a problem for audiophile wanting to swap usb cable. For me it shouldn't have been an issue, as I wanted to go LAN, but.... waiting for firmware update for roon:)
  10. I got the iDSD pro (signature one). I can't say it's a bad DAC, it's even superior to my Mytek brooklyn bridge in many way, but it lack Roon endpoint, which for me is a flaw in design. but as a headphone amp, it's a really great product, and sonicaly speaking, it match my fostex TH900MK2 wonderfully. AS a dac, it's full of detail, the soundstage is great, and it's full of feature for tweaking. But I do guess there are things for the same price that could perfom better, maybe with less options and tweaks, but in the end, only the sound matters I guess:)
  11. Hi:) I have found the solution, since the network bridge was not ok (it was too slow) So I connected the first LAN port to my switch, got the DHCP ok, tested everything. Then I chose in the parameters of my working network port to share network with network port 4 (in my case the second lan port of the Jcat) then plugged the lan cable from the mytek and.........got it working!! the Ip is something like 193.168.137.xx, but roon can see my Mytek brooklyn Bridge and......holy cow the sound changed !!
  12. Ok, I have tried a few things. The first one was to setup bridge mode, and then, my mytek was detected, but... all songs, either from my NAS, either from Qobuz, couldn't play, the network was too slow it seems. THen I I have tried to setup the second network going to the Mytek with a network with the same IP range as my main one. I didn't work. With DHCP, the second networ got a 169.254.xxx.xx as you have mentionned . I was too tired, so I stopped there:)
  13. thanks, will try. I got the Jcard to get DHCP from my router, that's a start. I'll listen a bit with setup like this, then try tomorrow to get the mytek directly connected, it does get DHCP as standard.
