  1. I use an Aurender X100 for my front end and do utilize the internal storage it has. That being said I need a better storage solution for all my files. Here are two NAS I am looking at...Would love to know if either is preferred? or I should go in a different direction all together. Thanks! https://www.nashq.com/p/synology/diskstation-ds1517%2B/synology-diskstation-ds1517%2B.229.4000.5.html https://www.nashq.com/p/qnap/ts-563-turbo-nas/qnap-ts-563-turbo-nas.229.4000.5.html
  2. George, PM sent, thanks so much This is the GoldX 800 to 400 I use for the Mini to the Weiss DAC2 http://www.granitedigital.com/firewire1394bdiagnosticcables.aspx
  3. George, any chance you would be willing to let me demo your Oyaide? I use the GoldX cable right now and was considering buying the Oyaide. After your comparison I am a big unsure. Maybe I could demo your and then buy it from you if I prefer it?
  4. Fabrice, I would be more than happy to beta for you as I use my iPad with my system everyday. I do however disagree with you about the repeat function of song and album. I am someone who regularly breaks in different gear, cables, etc. and the ability to repeat an album for the day while I am at work is a critical feature for me. The way I see it is that this app should have everything that the free Remote has plus additional features, not be lacking in comparison. I would love to see the app go more in this direction http://www.meridian-audio.com/features/sooloos-the-ipadiphone-connection.aspx
  5. I dont think that is yTrack in the article. There is more information on the left hand side and the album art is bigger by album is bigger there and located differently. Also the top bar is a different color and the buttons are laid out differently. It looks more like Remote than yTrack.
  6. I just installed your app and so far it is working fine; however, it is certainly missing a lot of the functionality of the Apple Remote app. Here are the things I would like to see added: ability to select the repeat of a single song or entire album access to playlists you need to be able to go into now playing and pull up the track listing for the album
  7. Guys, the SA-50 and D-07 are very different units. The SA-50 is a cd player that contains a USB input. The D-07 is a dedicated DAC that Esoteric spent a lot of time developing. The D-07 carries basically the same price as the SA-50 yet does not contain any of the hardware associated with the transport. I would personally be far more interested in how the D-07 compares to dedicated DACs like the Ayre, Weiss, Berkely, etc. than how it compares to an Esoteric CD player.
  8. Thanks Chris! at $4,800 with multiple inputs including USB it would certainly be interesting to see how it stacks up. I heard that same 32 bit DAC used in the D-07 in a cd player of theirs and it had a really nice sound. Being that it is Esoteric the fit and finish will be world class so I would be really interested in what you think of it sonically. I appreciate you making the effort.
  9. Chris, I was curious if you currently have any plans to review the new Esoteric D-07 DAC? This looks like a very interesting piece and I thought it would make for an interesting review. http://esoteric.teac.com/dacs/d-07/
  10. I am 100% with Ted b on this! DAC chips are said to take up to 72 hours to fully stabilize. I too run a Mac Mini > DAC2 and I leave the Mini on all the time. I do tell the display to run off after 20 minutes of no signal but I leave the computer on all the time. Therefore I can leave the DAC2 constantly powered up as well.
  11. Laurent, how much time was on the DAC2? I personally own one and can tell you unless it has 200 hours on it you have not heard what it can do. This is especially true of the bass as that was the largest change. I know the Ayre requires a few hundred hours as well. I would suggest spending a proper amount of time with each DAC as apposed to a more snapshot situation. I think this serve you best in the long term and show you what each DAC is truly capable.
  12. Chris, any updates on when we may see your review?
  13. Chris, when might we get an update? or possibly your review?

May, I ask what the purpose of turning off Dashboard and Spotlight are??

I completely agree with Ted and the others here. This "release" has frankly been a joke. I was extremely interested in this product when it was first annouced. Then the ridiculius $1,500 was announced for the software and I became less interested. Now, they release a demo on a Friday beofre going out of town (what sense does that make??) and 50 requests is a major backlog. My interest has officially dropped to basically zero at this point. SS has already turned off this potential customer.
