  1. Hi all, First off, this is a very cool forum and exactly what I've been looking for. As the title suggests, I'm a complete newbie to audiophilia(?) so I'm looking for any/all assistance. I have a Macbook run running the latest version of Mavericks, a hell of a lot of FLAC/ALAC files and that is all (for shame). I'm about to invest in a pair of decent cans - narrowed it down to Sennheiser Momentums or Bower & Wilkins P7s but open to suggestions from people in the know (i.e. you lot). All I'm asking is, if I'm looking to get the most out of my headphone listening at home, what should I be looking to invest in? E.g I've been looking at Music Players and came close to purchasing Audirvana Plus, but under 'System Requirements' it says you need a "Mac OS X Compatible DAC". So if I want to use Audirvana or Fidelia should I also be looking at a DAC as well? Basically, if you could recommend a decent, fairly basic requirements list (with examples) for headphone listening at home, it would be much appreciated. I can't quite hit five figures but I understand you get what you pay for and more than happy to spend a few hundred quid. Thanks a lot in advance and apologies for my naivety and if this has been covered elsewhere (I did have a look but it was a quick one - I'm at work). Cheers, Kris
