Thank you, I had not read this part of the home page, but only the manual in pdf, which evidently is not up to date, because it still mentions a compute capability 3.0

With my system (now a bit dated...) that you can see in signature (Intel quad core i7-3770k and nVIDIA Geforce gtx 660 Ti on pc server), with version 4.6.0 I can use CUDA offload without any problems. Instead with the new version 4.7.0 if I leave CUDA offload enabled, the playback start in the HQP mask, but no sound is played from the dac. Of course I upgraded the video card drivers to the latest available version, and I deleted the previous version of HQP before installing the new one. My nVIDIA card has 3.0 Compute Capability, 2GB memory and its seems upgraded to CUDA 11.
  3. edit: there are still some crashes from time to time and the gapless reproduction doesn't work well: there is a short silence between a track and the next one, and I hear a "click" on the DAC (T+A), it is as if with each new track the DAC hooks again the input frequency
  4. in my dual pc system with jplay, A+ beta works perfectly up to 128 dsd in ASIO mode too, by setting Jplay driver as output.
  5. Hello Geoff, I deleted the supersonic plugin (v. 1.5.2) and re-installed the new version (v. 1.5.3) without problems, and now, at the startup of Kodi, it doesn't show anymore the error message about the Supersonic plugin. Also, thanks to your help, I have now finally managed to send the stream of Qobuz to HQP (with "mconnect" app for iOs). It was my mistake, I had set bad in the settings of Supersonic the installation path of HQP ( "R:\HQPlayer desktop 3" instead of "R:\HQPlayer Desktop 3\HQPlayer-desktop. exe", the second is the correct setting). The system I use is visibile in my signature. thanks again, Pompeo
  6. I tried Supersonic in my dual pc system (HQP pc server + NAA on audio pc), following the instructions of this thread and of the pdf file about Qobuz, but without success. Supersonic doesn't take control of the Qobuz stream, that is forced to the default audio output setted in Kodi, even if this output is disabled in Windows or muted. Of course I perfectly followed the instructions about the add-on settings... (I installed also tinyDB). To be honest, I didn't install Subsonic (because my only interest is to play Qobuz in HQP, I have already other softwares for playing my local files, like Muso and Roon), could it depend on that? I don't think so, if I understood correctly this thread... Furthermore, when I try to install Supersonic add-on in Kodi, I see the same error described some posts ago, but the add-on is listed as installed. Kodi is installed on my pc server, with Windows 10 64bit April Update (v. 1803). I tried to set Hi-Fi Cable Asio Bridge as output in Kodi (directed to Jplay in dual pc mode) and the reproduction (with mconnect app for iOs) is perfect, but my goal is to use HQP, because I have a T+A dac 8 dsd and the "sweet spot" is dsd512...? Anyway, thanks in advance to Geoff for his beatiful work for all the audiophile community...?
  7. I wanted to point out that with my new dac T+A DAC 8 DSD, in a dual PC system, with in the PC server just an old i7-3770k and CUDA offload enabled permanently (Nvidia 660 Ti video card), Auto rate family enabled, and Fidelizer 8.0 Pro, I can play files up to DSD512 with poly-sync-xtr-mp-2s without stutter, from Roon or Muso indifferently. The CPU utilization percentage is about 40%, from time to time there are peaks at 100%, but rarely. It is not a definitive solution, I know, probably in the near future I will upgrade the PC server, but for now it works...

a further question for Miska: for upsampling to dsd512 (that is my goal for immediate future), HQP already has a specific modulator (AMSDM7 512+fs); do you plan to add an equivalent DSD modulator (i.e. DSD7 512+fs) ? l ask you this because at the moment, listening by upsampling all to DSD256, I feel that the "ASDM" category modulators sound more smooth and warm, but I prefer "DSD" modulators, more detailed and dynamics (especially with the last xtr-2s filters).

I suspect that you're right, as usual... These are the specs of my Nvidia GTX 660 Ti: This is the performance by playing a file 24/192 to DSD 256 at 11.2 with CUDA offload disabled: and this is with CUDA offload enabled: It seems that upsampling these files (24/192) to DSD256 without "auto rate family" is too hard job for my video card..maybe it's time to do an upgrade of my pc server...

I don't think it's a problem of cpu load (at least, not in my case). In fact, the problem disappears if I disable "CUDA offload", and in this case, CPU % even significantly grows (40% vs 23%). I've tried also to choose different settings in "Multicore DSP" (blank, grey, permanently enabled) but without effects. I'm curious to know the technical reason that explains the fact that the problem goes away by disabling CUDA offload ...

Hi Miska, I have the following problem. I have a dual pc system, where the NAA is a Gygabyte 2807 with WS2012R2 and AO, while the pc server is an i7-3770k with 16 gb ram and Nvidia GeForce 660 Ti video card. I usually listen by upsampling all files to DSD256 at 11.2 (44.1 x 256) since my dac North Star Design Supremo (probably due to a problem with the Amanero 384 driver that has not yet been solved), if I set 48 x 256, after a few minutes of listening of a track, begins to produce severe distortion on the right channel. I have the latest version of HQP, 3.16, and I really like the new filters xtr-2s, so I am using those. Just because I can't use DSD256 at 12.2, I left "Auto rate family" disabled, while "CUDA offload" is enabled. However, I have a problem that occurs only with xtr-2s filters and only with PCM files 24/192, which, with the above settings, at 11.2 are unlistenables, because there is severe stutter. If I disable "CUDA offload" it's all okay; similarly, everything works well if I set 48 x 256 (but then there is the problem of distortion on the right channel that I have already described), or if I use other types of filters (i.e. for example poly-sinc-mp-2s). On the server pc I also use Fidelizer Pro set to "Streamer" and "Audiophile" level, but does not depend on that, because the problem exists even if I don't use Fidelizer. This problem does not occur with PCM files to other resolutions (i.e. 44.1, 88.2, 96 or 176.4) nor with the DSF files, but only with PCM files to 24/192., and only with xtr-2s filters. I also tried the method suggested in this thread: https://www.computeraudiophile.com/forums/topic/29996-hqplayerwin10i5-how-to-get-rid-of-dropouts/, thinking it might be a problem due to the frequency of the processor, but nothing has changed. What can be the technical explanation? thanks

Yes me too, it seems that 3.15 sounds more analog and less fatiguing.

I don't think it's a HQP limitation. I have the same behaviour in my second setup with an Oppo HA2-SE. 48khz multiple rates are not available (Windows driver), but only in SDM output mode, in PCM all works fine. Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile

Absolutely yes. In my dual pc system I have the same settings and I can use Jplay and HQPlayer. If you have some problem try to choose "Network Adapter" instead of "Network Adapter IPV6", in Backend HQP settings. Sent from my iPad using Computer Audiophile
