  1. I think it's a little early to write off Beats Music. I'm a MOG mobile subscriber and have enjoyed the service for a couple of years. Their 320kbps streaming rate, ability to download to my device have been the reasons I signed up and stuck around. The one thing I felt was lacking was music discovery. Beats Music is obviously putting a lot of effort into that. If they can do that without taking away the things that made MOG great, then what's to complain about? Sure, the interface is going to take some getting used to. And I'm sure they'll start tweaking it almost immediately, as happens with most apps. I'm giving these guys the benefit of the doubt. If they screw it up, I'll happily switch over to Spotify. I think the management team at Beats (which does NOT include Dr. Dre -- he's only a financial backer) understands the competition in the marketplace and will work to keep MOG subscribers on board -- not piss them off and send them scurrying toward other services.
