  1. Thanks. I checked in the control panel for that output choice and I don't see a selection for Jplay. Instead I see JRMC 19, JRMC 23 and DSD Transcoder. I've attached a screen capture.
  2. Hello--I want to use Jriver MC 23 together with JPlay. Marcin advised that I install foo_dsd_asio ands I've done that (I'm running version 0.83). I've selected foo_dsd_asio in the audio options panel in JRMC. Where I'm getting stuck is that Marcin told me I have to set foo_dsd_asio for Jplay but I don't see a way to do that in JRMC. And I see no foo_dsd_asio app that allows me to make that selection. I would appreciate your help here. Thanks.
  3. Hello Keith--You've raised a question I have about external clocks and high quality DACs. I'm looking closely at the Berkeley Audio Ref 2 and the EMM DAC2X, neither of which support an external clock input. Since I'm planning to buy an external clock to support whatever USB bridge and USB PC card (and anything else with a clock input) I've been wondering if I'm making a poor decision not buying a DAC that I can connect to the clock as well. With a very high quality DAC like the two I mentioned, will it matter that I can't share the external clock signal? Thanks.
  4. Hello--I've just assembled my first music server. It's a dual PC setup and I want to begin upgrading it and need some advice about the best ways to invest. This is the current config: Asus H87 Plus MoBos in both machines Fanless aluminum low profile PC chassis for both machines Control PC: Windows 10 Pro, Intel i3 4130T 2.9 GHz, 8GB RAM Audio PC: Windows Server 2012 R2, Intel Pentium G3220 3 GHz, 8GB RAM, 3 SSDs M2 Tech HiFace USB adapter Jplay, Audiophile Optimizer, Roon Both machines use standard, mid quality PC power supplies I'm mostly a vinyl listener and have a pretty high qulaity analog rig: Jeff Rowland Coherence 2 Preamp Jeff Rowland Model 301 mono blocks Innersound Kaya electrostatic hybrid speakers Pass Labs XP25 2-chassis phono Esoteric D-03 DAC High quality XLR and speaker cables I think the best place to begin is upgraded power supplies and a new USB-DAC interface but I'd appreciate your advice. Please be as specific as possible with brands, models, etc. Thank you, Paul
  5. I'm building a 2-chassis music server/controller and have been reading about all the various external power supply vendors. I'm pretty confident that replacing the switch mode supply that I buy from Newegg with a purpose-built linear supply will make a big difference, especially in a highly resolving system like mine. There are a ton of companies that make lab-grade multi-output linear supplies that have very good specs. However, I've not found anyone in a forum who has re-purposed one to power a music PC. For example, this model (http://www.tequipment.net/InstekGPC1850D.html#tab-specifications) sells for $400 and appears to have superior specs compared to the audio PS vendors. Of course, in order to power an ATX mobo a custom wire loom is required but that isn't overly hard to make. Which brings me to my questions: Are there aspects of the purpose built music server power supplies that make them superior to the lab-centric benchtop products? If so, what are they and could I find a lab power supply that has those superior specs. Ultimately, I like getting good value for my money and there are an order of magnitude more lab PS vendors than audio PS vendors which means I can get cheaper gear and have a good selection of excellent used gear as well. I appreciate any thoughts, feedback and guidance you can provide.
