AudioDoctor: thanks for the advice. Yes, I haven't considered the p700u because of cost of the amp + balanced cables. (I've yet to demo the p700u with balanced cables, with stock it sounded the same as p-1u.) The leben cs300/xs does seem a little rare. I can find the cs600, and one 300 on yahoo auctions. I'm also now considering getting the luxman L-505uX with the da-06 dac, and bypassing the whole dedicated headphone amp for now. Anyone have any experiences with this integrated amp? I'm thinking of pairing them with eclipse td speakers. On a sidenote, I'll be going to this hi-end audio fair at the end of the month: 逸品館フェア | 逸品館 Anything I should look out for? I'm particularly interested in the triode tube amps. Thanks

Burson doesn't seem common in Japan. As for tube amps I can demo these ones: ヨドバシ.com - 真空管アンプ | ヨドバシカメラの公式通販サイト【全品無料配達】 Not really sure where to start with those... Another option would be to use the headphone output of one of the luxman intergrated amps. Forgot to mention, my source is a macbook running audirvana. As for now I'm using the hd800s with a fiio E07k which surprisingly sounds good with EQ'ing the bass.

Hello all from Japan, my first post! I've just recently bought HD800s and I'm considering the following combinations: 1) luxman p-1u headphone amp / DA-06 dac 2) luxman p-1u headphone amp / DA-200 dac 3) luxman DA-200 dac (using headphone out) paired with M-200 amp driving eclipse TD508mk3 speakers I've demo'd the p-1u at Yodobashi Camera and really preferred it to the senn hdvda600/800 amp/dac. I've yet to demo the DA-200 or DA-06. I haven't found a comparison in English for these dacs. Anyone tried these combinations? Anything else to consider? Anyone else in Japan? Cheers
