  1. hawkeye1911;285154]I'm relatively new to computer audio. Recently I've downloaded several hi-res files from HDTracks.com. On playback (using Audirvana + and iTunes) I quite often hearing a "crackling" sound from my speakers. My DAC can only do a maximum 24/96 so I never download files with higher resolutions than that (on the advice of HDTracks). The problem is priodic as there are times when the high-res files playback cleanly. I'm using a new Mac Mini connected via USB to a Wyred-4-Sound DAC - 1. The problem only happens with hi-res files played back through Audirvana +. (When I play those files though iTunes (16/44), there is no extraneous speaker noise. Any advice to solve this frustrating problem would be greatly appreciated. I had a similar problem but i was able to fix that quickly. However I am using windows and foobar so you may need to find this setting yourself in Audirvana. I basically increase the buffer to 1000ms. *The higher the number, the less likely it will pop. If that didn't fix your problem, try replacing to a high quality USB cable. I am using Pangea pcocc USB cable. I think any good quality gold plated USB cable will do a good job as well. Hope that helps.
