  1. What voltage doe the ts251 require? It is also a shame those units linked are not user adjustable.
  2. My audio server cost me close to twice this once sotm components, multiple lpsu's, passive case, updating jrmc licenses, trialing other software etc. were taken into account. The hours poured into it don't count. Whatever change there is in SQ, I don't hear it. And ease of installation and use, there is no comparison. Better to trial it if you can though.
  3. I bought this thinking I might resolve a bass issue plaguing me for the last 12 months only to resolve the issue as it arrived with a new player. It wasn't DAC related. I spent probably 50 hours+ testing and swapping out components, using different PC's. /sigh So my W4S dac2 DSD, which is the 240V version, will stay only because I feel it may be harder to sell due to its voltage. The TEAC is the North American version with the 110/120vac. Bought from BHphotovideo.com in NY. Condition wise, maybe a finger print or two. Only the power cable was unwrapped. The rest are still packaged from the factory. It will be double boxed and I can ship via DHL anywhere at your cost. I can add photo's once home tonight. Payment via paypal + fees + delivery. How about $900USD
  4. I've no interest in Roon. I don't sit around listening to music or at least I rarely do. It is part of my active life. Having some app that costs me monthly is furthest from my mindset and audio.
  5. I think I'll leave it for the time being then. I had received my new TEAC NT-503 only a week ago as part of this long term plan to fix the bass issue. But after some A/B'ing with the W4S DAC2 DSD, we think it has the edge on SQ so the TEAC is up for sale shortly. I had even ordered some Focal SM9's to replace my Focal SM6 Solo's. Now I'm not sure I need to carry through with this either. Although the SM9's are awesome sounding units.
  6. Interestingly, this unit has fixed a long term issue I've had with missing bass. A year or so ago I swapped out my wadia 121 with a w4s dac2 dsd and shortly afterwards, my bass dissappeared. I spent a significant amount of time rebuilding the server, testing different configs and outputs. Swapping out different LPSU's. Multiple OS reinstalls then upgrades to win10 and all with no resolution to this issue. I recently decided to change the DAC out and bought the TEAC NT-503 and again, no discernible difference. Added the node 2 last night and everything is fine again. No drivers required. All quite simple. I'm happy but can't help thinking about the significant loss of time and money on this issue. Never again. I'm over DIY solutions. Now the question is what DAC to sell. Plus I've a Regen spare along with SoTM components, HD-Plex and teradak lpsu's and finally, a HD-Plex passive H1S case with thin itx/4670T PC. And do I look at a upgraded coax reclocking solution because you know, there's always something else that can possibly improve the SQ...
  7. I've been considering significant changes here myself and the BS node 2 looks the likely contender. I've a passive pc (hdplex) with sotm usb, multiple LPSU and a regen and the fiddling around over several years has worn thin. And with my lack of golden ears, I doubt I'll be able to discern any difference in SQ.
  8. What output to your DAC are you using? It doesn't use USB correct?
  9. I switched the search function to iphone only, found it and am downloading now.
  10. Why on earth would they do that when it is a Japanese company selling an item worldwide?
  11. Who knows why. All I get from the search function is pcm recorder and dr control. Maybe I should spend a grand on an iphone to control a 1k dac.
  12. Unfortunately the android app won't work and my ipad3 can't find the TEAC HR app at apple. It seems others at the play store share my frustration with this TEAC failure. So much for the network features
  13. The issue here is Schiits lack on an integrated powered pre/volume control and remote. My system sits in a hall cupboard and there is a 10 metre minimum xlr to the actives in the lounge. I'd love to try another product from Schiit but i'm not willing to invest in a premium preamp when all my music is on the NAS. Surely many feel the same way or are in the same situation and would support them if they introduced such a component.
