usually when foobar crashes upon restart it asks if you wish to start in safe mode (plugins disabled) has that happened? did you try it?

usb is slow even usb 3.0

ssd are still small comparatively , longevity is not a proven thing yet , I have mechanical hds that are over 10 years old the speed is not really relevant from a music standpoint i have over a tb of just hi rez stuff let alone the reg 16/44.1 so....

I have seen that posted before however I dont believe its quite that simple as asio4all works always while ks does not (cpu not withstanding)

I have all the original cds,the castle reissues,the shm sacds, the deluxe editions and most of the original US release vinyl as well as a few NEMS issues . I now have the HDtracks as well. So far the HDtracks release trumps ALL including the vinyl I am a bit of a Sabbath fanatic having seen every incarnation several times as well as every incarnation of Ozzy`s bands including Randy Rhodes... these could possibly be the definitive release ...bring on the Dio,Martin And Gillian stuff!!

I have a bunch of 24/192 files my dac is 24/96 I can use foobar and resample during playback but thats not bit perfect for other files or I can use audiogate to resample ,I cant really compare the original to the resample so thoughts?

Using Media Monkey on Win XP Media Ed SP 3: Kernel Streaming Just refuses to work it did not work with the Dacmagic 100 either it does however work with my AA DDE 1.2 hmmmm.. ASIO4ALL works BUT 24/176 and 24/192 wont play at all.. Waveout everything works bit perfect is maintained 24/176 and 24/192 are downsampled to 24/88.2 and 24/96... ASIO is touchy pops and static if anything else is going on does not happen with KS and the AA DDE which is why I preferred it to ASIO but now KS apparently does not play well with the dragonfly..I give up HDCD but gain the ability to play HDTracks stuff...tradeoffs
