  1. Not to start a flame war, but you can get it from Acoustic Sounds in DSD too...
  2. OP, you are talking about the headphone out jack DAC supporting higher than 16/44. The new one won't have an upgraded DAC from what we currently know. iPhone itself supports hi-res with VLC, HDPlayer from Onkyo, etc when you use the Apple CCK and a DAC...
  3. Yeah, I am not ordering from China directly. Takes too long to arrive (30 days) and I don't want to give them my credit card... I like the modDIY one. Haven't found that one yet. Still from China though... So I am putting this in my car. I have a GeekOut 450 DAC that I am going to hook to my iPhone via the camera connection kit. However, it requires a bigger power source that the iPhone can deliver so I need a y-cable to run power USB to the phone and DAC at the same time.
  4. I am trying to find a male to dual female USB cable but haven't had any luck. Any recommendations on where I can find them? Looking for full size, not mini. Thanks.
  5. Few questions on your WIFI setup... Are you using 802.11g, n, or ac? 2.4GHz or 5GHz? Try this for scanning if you haven't... Do a Spotlight search for 'Wireless Diagnostics.' Once it opens, go to 'Window' menu and select 'Utilities.' Now click the 'Wi-Fi Scan' tab and do a search. It'll tell you what's out there in better details and give suggestions for the best channel to use. Once you figure that out, force your wireless router onto one of those channels. I'd recommend using a 5GHz channel if you can, while there is less range, that part of the frequency spectrum is much less cluttered than the 2.4GHz spectrum. If that doesn't fix it, try doing a traceroute using the Network Utility to your router (guessing your router gateway IP is 192.168.1.1 since most people don't change the default). If you are showing packet loss, than you need to change spectrum channels. If all else fails, run some ethernet (CAT5e/6). It's simple and doesn't rely on convertors (that could fail). If you EXISTING system accepts ethernet, use it.
  6. Mine started working fine again, I did a clean install and it fixed it. Unfortunately, I didn't know about that flag setting change by holding down Option until reading this just now... All is well and I'm finally enjoying DSD on my new Aerial 6Ts now...
  7. Sorry, that was a typo. I actually have 2.02 installed.
  8. Anyone else having an issue getting DSD files to play appropriately in PureMusic (2.0.1) with their QB-9 DSD? I upgraded, didn't change a setting, and get nothing but static sometimes when playing them (and they sound different too, much quieter when they do work). I don't have Native DSD Streaming enabled (DoP) nor have it checked under Special Options and it works, just sounds very quiet. The DoP flag is 05FA which is what it was under the previous version (1.89). When I do enable DoP and such, that is when I get all the static. What I did notice is that when it does work, instead of displaying '64' on the front panel of the QB-9 DSD, it'll give '172' like it is trying to upsample (which is also disabled in PureMusic) See attached screenshots... Any ideas? Its kinda annoying...
  9. Anyone know if Decca is ever going to release the original Three Tenors concert from 1990? It's one of the greatest classical albums, would be great in 24/192 or even DSD...
  10. Download the Van Cliburn rendition from the 50s off HDTracks. The best hi-res recording out there.
  11. So I saw word that ChannlD was going to do a product demonstration of Pure Music 2.0 at AXPONA this yesterday. I haven't seen anything in the news, nor have they updated their website. Anyone else heard anything?
  12. I had the chance to sit down and listen today to the new Aerial Acoustics 6T speakers at Audio Advice in Raleigh, NC. What an amazing set of speakers. Looking at them, they don't appear that they will handle low-end very well due to the slim cabinet, but they do have dual 5.25" woofers in them. Bottom line, they sing far beyond anything I've heard in the price range. I listened to some Vandersteen Treos at the same time and they just weren't close (only a single 8" woofer). The transitions between low/mid/high were seamless and I got tingles down my spine while listening to both the new album from Beck and Van Cliburn's Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto #3. The low end on the 6Ts put the Treos way behind it. Such detailed mids that I could plainly hear fingers moving up and down guitars from all of the guitars, not just Beck's. Clarity in the highs are unsurpassed, especially since they were natural. Think of it as transporting you far beyond what you think a $6k speaker would do. Don't get me wrong, the Treos are very good speakers, but the 6Ts are on a very different level. Musical to the core, superb imaging, and just plain beautiful. I currently have a set of Vandersteen 2ce Sig IIs and will be upgrading next month to the 6Ts. If your local dealer has them, go listen to them! 13. So for giggles, I installed the trial of JRiver MC19. Guess what, works perfectly well. So, now another e-mail to ChannlD again for troubleshooting... What's nice about JRMC is that you can set your audio buffers (very nice, I left mine at default of 100ms and it plays fine) as well as see the bitrate (5644kbps) straight in the window. Setup was much easier in JRMC than Pure Music too.
  14. Yeah, my files sizes are about the same. You are correct, it plays fine from the local hard drive, but not from the NAS. It started doing it now also with my Dave Brubeck in DSD (maybe leaning towards a network problem). There is very little traffic over the wired network in my house. I'll run WireShark tomorrow and see if anything is out of the ordinary on the network, but there shouldn't be. It's a brand new RT-AC68U router powering the network.
