How do you store your music ?
HifiPCGuide replied to Deaf Cat's topic in Disk Storage / Music Library Storage
Hi everyone, My contribution : i built a diy NAS which is also a HTPC running windows 7 64bits (i3/8gb/SSD, picopsu, you can't hear it at all) integrated in an old 1930 radio station. Music is stored on a 4TB harddrive and weekly replicated to another 4TB plugged on the same PC via Sata 3 ports. I also have a dedicated laptop with a 1tb internal drive which also contains the entire library. -
Haven't seen 1tb ssd yet! it's pricey but it's the ultimate solution for an audiophile solution : very fast access times, very low power consumption, reliable, absolutely no noise or heat, and of course 1tb to store your entire music collection : it's just amazing. Merry christmas everyone!

Have you guys noticed any improvement about audio quality by using SSDs? I mean it's of course more speedy but if you have a dedicated computer for playing music i'd rather get a 1tb hard drive for the same range of price.

Thanks Jud but isn't a little too small for storing audio files? My library is about 600gb approx !
