If my only purpose to a music server is to output digital signal to my DAC and running fb2k which will be controlled by my Android phone/iPad, what are the disadvantages of building a fanless PC which consists of Intel atom with 2GB RAM and a 1TB HD? Alternative question will be what a mac mini can do (or any other 600 dollar pc can do wbich this setup can't). By no means I am trying to call you guys dumb for buying/recommending higher priced setups I am just here to learn.
