Sleep or power off, I think it comes back as you had it. However, I can't say that for sure regarding volume, as I leave mine on 100 all the time, so don't know whether it will come back on at the last volume used. I know the other settings do stay as you left them. Of course, if you power it off, before you can use exact mode clock you have to warm up. I leave mine on auto fwiw. Mark

I can only say that the Vega works great in my system with the stock usb cable, as well as a longer one (5 meters) that I had made by Nirvana for not much money.

I have moved to a variety of ways of getting the bits into the pre-amp, but I still have 3 SBTs, one of them purchased new recently. They are still available new from several sources, although they end up costing 400-700 or so, the latter price on Amazon for a new unit, the former can be found new on Ebay from time to time.

I have the PC version, it is running on a Win 8 system. It is an i7, and has 16 GB ram.

I am sure he is very knowledgeable, but why make such a change in your position based on his statements? I suspect there are other experts who would disagree with him, at least regarding the actual audio effect down chain. I personally can't hear a difference between/among usb cables, but I have certainly not done a lot of testing so I don't claim to have any definitive answer. Mark

I just bought a license to Miska's fine HQPlayer software, and wondered if anyone had settings suggestions for an Auralic Vega DAC or for a McIntosh internal DAC in a C50? I use USB from a dedicated Win8 PC to the Vega; USB from a SOtM MiniServer on the network to the McIntosh C50 DAC (I sometimes reverse that and use the SOtM with the Vega, and PC to the C50). The Vega will accept pcm up toDXD(352.8KS/s, 384KS/s in 32bit) as well as DSD stream at 2.8224MHz and 5.6448MHz. The C50 is PCM only, 32/192 via USB.Thanks for you thoughts, Mark

Yes, I have never had any problems downloading from HDTracks. I don't think their search engine is very good, but otherwise no problems.

I have an icon on my iPad bookmarked to the gui page and it works great this way, equivalent to an app

The Wilson comment does seem gratuitous for this thread. [i have several of their speakers as fair disclosure]. Using the word stole, even if you believe it to be true, seems unwise. There are laws about this, and also, as I said, it seems a bit OT. Mark
