  1. My soundcard is my Acurus. I'm only looking for a device to convert usb to coaxial and support ac3 and dts without mixing it down to 2 channel. I'm not looking for a DAC. Hope that clarifies maelob.
  2. Good to know on the V-link. I was hoping a maker like Musical Fidelity had an offering but I might be stuck to cheap Chinese versions until I find a reputable unit. Still researching. The Extron HAE-100 looks decent but I'd like to make sure I can achieve ac3 from my pc before I drop $300. Also, google the HA INFO U2 and give me your thoughts. Not sure what the rules are for linking to classifieds are anything eBay related. These are cheap and just might be the ticket.
  3. Has anyone tried this? As I see it, it is either USB to SPDIF or an HDMI to SPDIF audio extractor. Am I in the right forum category? I would've thought many people have tried this. Actually a better question might be is it even possible to attain AC3 or DTS from a PC? Would something like the HA INFO U2 converter do it? Any experiences with this cheap converter? The M2Tech I have now only passes PCM.
  4. New here with a question. I have an Acurus ACT3, which is an older 5.1 pre/processor. I love the sound of it but it only takes an SPDIF toslink and coax input to achieve 5.1 DD/DTS/ AC3. My PC does not have a dedicated digital coax or toslink output. I have tried using an M2Tech Hiface to get the coax digital to my Acurus but it only passes two channel. Is there a USB to digital coax converter that will pass AC3/ DD/ DTS? I don't want to mess with analog multi channel output devices, I just want a converter that will not downmix USB digital to 2 channel stereo as I will be using the ACT3 as the multi channel processor. Any suggestions would be great. I'm looking for a simple device that looks like the Musical Fidelity V-link or Peachtree T1 that will take the multi channel out via usb and convert to multi channel spdif coax. Nothing more, I don't want to replace the Acurus. Is this possible? Thanks all.
