  1. My current receiver ( which i cannot test as as my cinema room is still under construction) only has audyssey multixt so the big question is if 24 bit DTS-HD/Dolby true-HD remixed to losless DTS core with Dirac is noticeable better or worse than bitstreamed DTS-HD/Dolby true-HD with multiXT. I have also looked at the emotiva but as I have already bought Dirac I was hoping to use that with a good result
  2. Thank you for your replys! Sorry for the late response but i had some things to look into in order to repsond. It does sound like the hardware inside the mac is not compatible with blu ray HD audio tracks. I am going to use XBMC and from what i have read, XBMC will convert the DTS-HD or Dolby True-HD tracks to DTS core which will be fed to the receiver. This is of cause resulting in lower quality audio :-( http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=183777 This is making me consider going for a windows HTPC instead as this operating system does not have this limitation. I wish dirac would make a external box solution so that i would be able to do: NAS with blueray rips/Blueray drive/Mac mini--> Surround receiver--> Dirac box --> 5.1 speakers :-)
  3. I was experiencing this on my old 2009 mac mini and recently bought a 2011. This has happened on both what plist file are you refering to? I can only find: se.dirac.appl.DiracLiveCalibrationTool.plist This is the crash log as of last night [2013-12-22 17:27:42.817] Starting up... [17:27:42.968; 0xa09071a8] INFO : LogLevel = 'ERROR'
  4. Hello Anyone else having problems with Dirac crashing on Mac? What often happens is that I wake my Mac and want to play a song via iTunes. But the song will not play until I close down Dirac and start it again Using 2011 Mac mini with Mac OS mavericks Anyone else experiencing this problem?
  5. Right, the thing is that there is a couple of things I am unsure of. 1. Will the Mac mini be able to handle hd audio. I have heard that there is some restrictions in that area. 2. I am unsure if how to connect the blue-ray drive to the Mac. The only option I see is by sending the audio via optical cable and the video via hdmi to the receiver. But then again, can I send 5.1 hd audio via optical cable? 3. Is Dirac even able to support hd audio?
  6. Hello guys I am currently using dirac in my stereo setup and i am very pleased with the result. I have plans for making a spare rum into a dedicated 5.1 home cinema and i would like to use dirac for this aswell. I want close to the optimal experience and the room will get full acoustic treatment. But i have a hard time figuring out the right way of setting this up. I don't think that the other available room correction processes like odyssey and ARC are on pair with dirac and i cannot afford a datasat receiver with it built in So what i would like to do is: NAS with blueray rips/Blueray drive--> mac mini running dirac --> Surround receiver--> 5.1 speakers The disadvantages i see is that i will not be able to take advantage of the HD audio tracks. I allready have a mac mini that fits the purpose and i would like to use that but if I have to switch to a Windows PC then i will. Does anyone have some input on how to make this work in the best way possible? Thanks in advance!
