  1. Wow... this can wear a person out... just reading through it all... much less doing it all. And... tell me again... why a person wants to do all this (other than the challenge)... when it no doubt costs as much, or more, as a W4S Music Server - so, why not just buy the W4S MS???
  2. OK... KECES it is... if... they respond and can provide everything I need - including the adapter cable to fit the Mini connection of the motherboard. Looking forward to your pics... And... I agree... it makes absolutely no sense at all to invest more than the Mini in a LPSU that costs much less.
  3. Not surprising... if I'd paid thousand$ for such a "tweek" - you can be sure I'd find it made a huge improvement in the sound of my system - "Audio Nirvana" for certain!
  4. The Mac Mini gets good reviews... and... is incredibly simple to modify - you don't have to be a "DOS Techy" to do it. I'm not interested in writting code - I realize the "DOS Techy's" out there will take exception... but... that's simply unneccessary in 2013. "Pre-Packaged" is a "defined term" re-read the OP...
  5. Is the Keces about "as good as it gets" for the money ($500)??? keces I'll likely go with this... unless someone has a better alternative.
  6. Can anyone direct me to the threads comparing the Mac Mini w mods to the common pre-packaged music servers??? I'm trying to decide whether to just get a Mac Mini and make the typical mods... or... spring for the W4S or Antipodes music server. But... I'm not thrilled with the idea of investing the money in the pre-packaged stuff - would rather wait until the market shakes out, and the competition brings down the prices. I have doubts that the pre-packaged servers can be much better than a Mac Mini with mods - but, I have no idea. And... I'm not really a "DOS Techy" so... "I'm uninterested in building a PC from scratch." Thanks for your help...
  7. Can anyone direct me to the threads with a discussion re: an inexpensive linear power supply mod kit for the 2010-2013 Mac Mini??? I've found all the expensive ones, but refuse to spend that much on the Mac Mini. And... I've found the Teradak, which looks interesting... but... I haven't found any discussions of it's performance and reliability. Thanks for your help...
  8. I have to agree... Tried the Bybee Power Cord with the Quantum Purifiers on it... and... I guess the "electrons weren't being stripped, or their flow wasn't being streamlined and the quantum noise energy wasn't being dissipated"... or... I'm just some kind of "audio neandrathal" - because I could tell no difference in the sound. If you can... better you spend your "hard-earned thousand$" on the stuff... than me! Of course... "your mileage may differ" - right?
