  1. Hi Eloise, thanks for your very quick reply ! I'm not sure to get what you're saying.. do you mean there it is not possible to add a decent audio card via USB or it is not possible to add an audio card via USB ? I don't know if I understood well, but I've seen usb DACs, could they work as audio card for a NuC ? I don't know if what I want to do is a streamer or something else (not very good with the proper words...) I would just like to be able to play the music from my NAS on my (future) audio amplifier, using a flexible solution (and a cheap one if possible) And for me the audio streamers such as those by famous audio brands are not so flexible (updates to be made by the manufacturer..) and sometimes difficult to control with a tablet/smartphone, as the manufacturer's apps are not always so handy. If installing SMB would enable me to do so, then why not! I don't know SMB though.... I might have to find some information about it. Would this installation work on a standalone mode ? (means I could turn the NuC on and use it without having to use a keyboard/display to launch the app ?) Thanks for your help, and sorry if some (all?) of my questions are a bit silly Cyril
  2. Hi guys ! I'm trying to set up a Hifi System at home, to read music from internet radios and from my NAS (all my domestic network is connected via ethernet and my NAS (synology) is DLNA compatible). I was originally going for the power amplifier + streamer option. But budget/evolutions wise the power amplifier + NuC + DAC seems to be a much better one. Have any of you turned one into an audio Streamer ? Would it be controlable from an Android phone and is it possible to have it running on "standalone mode" (off when not listenning music, and I would turn it on just when I need it ?) If you have any advices on the configuration (OS, streaming softwares..) or for the choice of the DAC and sound card, they would be welcome ! Thanks, Cyril
