I've been lurking on the site for awhile and reading a lot of posts. I've decided to move into the world of computer audio - getting tired of burning DVD-As. I'm also in the process of changing and downsizing my systems. I'm running Rega TTs, McIntosh separates for amplification and OPPO for cd playback.
The McIntosh separates are all but gone. I'm keeping 1 Rega TT and the OPPO. I recently purchased a Yamaha RX-A2020 and am now looking for a DAC. I plan to use my Mac Book Pro with Audirvana as front end. I have a 2 TB Toshiba external drive.
I'd like the flexibility of listening up to 24/192 (for some HD Tracks) but I will primarily listen to 24/96. I'd also like the DAC to be able to support gapless playback. I almost pulled the trigger last night on the Marantz NA7004 but saw in a review that it did not support gapless playback. I originally chose that unit due to the cost (I want to walk before I run) and the WAF.
Can someone recommend a similar unit at that price point that supports gapless play back?
