  1. Agree with what you say Phusis. I have version 15 of the Beta 5.2. JPlay said that "5.2" would be released in two weeks.
  2. I have a fairly transparent system. Details below. I am testing the JPlay 5.2 beta currently using the JRiver interface. Yeah, i know, they're not too happy with each other. As an ex professional classical musician (now audiophile), i can just reaffirm that my listening tests assure me that JPlay is NOT a hoax. I hear a difference. The difference is a positive one. This latest version 5.2 is clearly the best sounding one and JPlay interfaces nicely with JRiver MC for audio alone, albeit JRiver might not want it to. The sound is focussed, concentrated and devoid of artifacts, clutter in a way that JRiver by itself IS NOT. Even 16/44 recordings hold my interest ! . . . As an analog man, that is unusual. Dont ask me to explain why "bit perfect" is not the same as "bit perfect ", I'm just describing WHAT I HEAR ! As an experienced audiophile i do not stick with products, tweaks, etc that do not work for me. JPlay works. And its development continues. The only time i listen through the JRiver sound engine is when its Television or Video. My Sys: Modified Well Temperd Lab t t, LPLabs Carbon Fibre arm, Benz Micro RubyZ, Shelter7000, VanDenHul Silver IC, K&K Premium Step-up, Gingko Cloud11, Sony Laptop, JPlay, Empirical Off Ramp5, Eastern Electric MM Plus DAC, Audible Illusions Mod3 Pre, VTL Compact 100 Monoblocks, Focal / Mundorf-Ribbon spkrs, 12XLS Peerless Subwoofr, Aurios Classics X 12, Synergistic Tesla IC's, PSC spkr cable, VPI 16.5, 3000 LPs, Dedicated pwr, Chang Lightspeed CLS300Euro, tube traps treated room.
  3. JPlay 5.2 beta is out. Sounds great, more concentrated, less clutter than JRiver by itself. As an ex classical musician and current audiophile i trust my ears and i do not stick with products, tweaks whatever that do not work for me. JPlay does work, and i can even hold my interest in 16/44 recordings.
