Hello all... first time poster.
I have an exiting sound card that I have been using for years. A M-Audio Delta 1010. Right now I don't need, or want, to use the box (that houses the TRS jack plugs). It has a s/pdif out. I might want to use that output depending if a reliable low noise s/pdif DAC exists. Yes, I've seen a few, but what I've seen looks cheap and crappy.
I also have some nice RCA cables that I can use. I'll probably end up using KRK speakers. I found a self powered set that has RCA inputs.
That leaves the conversion... I know nothing about s/pdif to analog converters. What part of a converter will determine it's quality? It's chip? Capacitors? I don't want to spend more than $100 on a converter and it must be low noise. Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance.
