  1. Fellows, that's THE symphony!! Beautifully recorded...second movement is a blast!!
  2. Good, i was thinking in getting this recording...
  3. I have the recording of Sudbin. When I listened for the first time Rach piano sonata n. 2 I bought some recommended recordings and this was one of them. Very nice.
  4. I'm really enjoying Roon; As long as your rips or downloads are well tagged and organized i found that it really works well. It's just a matter of getting used to it's style. You can customize it a lot right now. For me there's nothing like it right now! Lyrics, reviews, bios, recording details metadata, native DSD playing etc... I'll keep it together with Audirvana and follow its development; A lot of companies started to work on solutions based on Roon. I don't use Tidal anyway. Regards
  5. I've had a lot of problems when ripping with iTunes. Even with clean cds you never know what can happen. With me o lot of clicks and pops on tracks with errors even with error correction checked. That was when i decided to use exclusively dbpoweramp to rip my cds do aiff. And when i have a track that dbpoweramp is not able to recover i buy only that track on Presto Classical or Qobuz and them adjust the metadata to fit the rest of the album and complete it. But it's just my opinion and experience... I do use iTunes for organizing and metadata for which it's great for me.
  6. By the way, eclassical is pretty bad on metadata...missing info and strange parenthesis around everything. Hyperion downloads is the most perfect metadata you can find.
  7. Actually i'm more inclined to the Hillborg but got the Jacobs anyway.
  8. Beautiful Grieg songs for voice and piano. Early (1993) BIS recording.
  9. By the way, nice offering today: Isabelle Faust Bach Sonatas & Partitas solo violin. I have the red book cd so i'll pass.
  10. Just bought from eClassical promotion today. Well recorded and beautiful music.
  11. You made the point ted_b. Usually when i have to buy BIS albums i go directly to eclassical; Hyperion, it's website either; Presto Classical for rare to find redbook downloads and now some HD releases as well; Qobuz for most of Jazz and Classical HD and NativeDSD for my DSD downloads. Maybe the Presto Classical hd version was a ripped SACD source.
  12. I know that — they use SACD media mostly for 5.1. But the thing is that the sampling rate diverge from eclassical/prestoclassical.
