I did update and disable and re enable diretta, still crash. Reburn 8.6 rpi5 to sd card, redo everything, didn't change much, still crash.

6.6.21-GentooPlayer-RT-ULTRA-EUP-NOR-CLTO-rt26+, different kernal also crash. might be due to 8.6 diretta issue?

@antonellocaroli you mean once I enable endpoint ramdisk mode, even after I power cycle it will goes into endpoint ramdisk mode right after reboot?

@antonellocaroli for endpoint ramdisk mode, if we want to back to normal mode we can just reboot the RPI by powering off and back on correct? Thus I don't see why do we need SSH enable for this RAM disk mode. Or there are other aspect I don't understand.

You only see the CLTO kernal if you pay for this optional kernal to be seen.

For me I did find rpi5 is better sounding than rpi4, so no choice I have to buy additional license for RPI5! but I think it's worth it consider how much we spend on other hardware. I consider myself lucky as my power filtering board is reusable on rpi5. Yes RPI5 is drawing more current and hotter, mine hover ard 55C on average day, warm day might be slightly higher. and heatsink fan is a must. not optional ya. I have not play with different kernal yet but already find it's much more musical and dynamic on 8.5. Base on headphone setup. still waiting for my BAT Rex500 power amp to arrive next 3 weeks for speaker setup (which could hear difference better)

once you do update gpupdate, please refresh your page, there are newer up/dw kernel option show up. So Always do a refresh of page after update gp-update is a good idea. It should solve your problem.

Like wise for UPNP, MPD setting try reducing buffer also help in sound quality. this is my setting for reference.

Oh my, so much progress in pass 1 week and I am not around :( further more my amp is down and I am not able to enjoy all the improvement. Very sad for me but happy for those who could enjoy these improvements!

RPI5 came in. Too bad I can’t test it for next 8days due to vacations and my speaker amp blow not able to test using speaker setup. Super sad.

To be frank, I have playing pc audio pass 12 years, Gentooplayer is by far easiest to use and offer best sound quality over others. And with RPI small foot print and easier to DIY power supply and filtering hardware compare to x86 I am spoiled for options. I am now having license for 4 set of RPI hardware! (3 RPI4B + 1 Holo red RPI base) Way to go Gentooplayer, keep it up.

Previous kernal tweak have 3 field disable, do you all means just flip all to enable?

Update, if you need to do GP update, you need to key in new key. Just found out.
