  1. Thanks. I think youre spot-on; back up the entire disc and not do an a la carte selection of files (as I had done) to rip from the BluRay disc. Indeedk, Handbrake doesnt seem like the program I should be using. There are lots of options when using it but I'd rather use the software I've paid for. Next question: My ripped audio files have no artwork. Can you suggest a program to tag them with that sort of thing in the metadata? Thanks.
  2. I just got a Blu-Ray disc that's primarily audio. I bought DVD AE and seem to be a bit...confused. All I want to extract is the high resolution stereo tracks from the disk- not any of the multitrack files. I ran MakeMKV and it ripped the entire disc to my HD. Then I ran DVD AE but it somehow converted the files I wanted as mono (the difference is abundantly obvious when compared to the stereo PCM tracks on the BluRay disc). So I went again with MakeMKV but this time only ripping the 2 channel files off the disc. It created a much smaller of .MKV files but then DVD AE when launched couldnt seem to connect to them; the MKV files were grayed out. So I ran HandBrake to convert them and just j20056, I got one large file. Now I'm scratching my head. Any suggestions?
  3. Greetings! This is my very first ever post here and golly I'm excited. As an owner of many CDs and DATs I've gone through the process of ripping a bunch to MP3s for the sake of portability- listening to them in the car and while commuting. But I gave up on the "rig"- Etymotic ER4Ps and the iPhone. While highly portable the sound was simply not up to par with what I had expected or wanted. I began "anew" with a Fiio X3 and B&O headphones. Muuuuuuuch better!! Now I've got a Fleetwood Mac DVD-A disc and I'd like to harvest the 96kHz/24bit audio to take on the road as ALAC files. But how to do this? Wil my Oppo BDP-103 player spit out that kind of audio via one of the ports? I was hoping I could connect it to my CPU (MacPro) and capture it using a simple audio program. Or if software is the way to go, what suggestions would you make? Should I do this entirely with my computer? Ive checked a bunch of prior postings but they seem to be several years old and am reluctant to follow an old string of comments. If I could find a logical flow to do this it would please me immensely! Thanks for your help in advance.
