I get album, album cover and song with CP. I can also play, pause, jump to the next song or go back by the touch screen or by controls on the steering wheel. I am only using Qobuz. Can you play FLAC files from a USB stick via USB?

Thanks for lengthy response my old vehicle was a 2018 Jeep and I used a DAP via analog aux in. I was very happy with this and wanted to continue in the same vein. The new car, a 2021 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium has USB connectivity (can play FLAC files via USB 24/48), Bluetooth, Apple Car Play and Android Car Play. I'm kind of set on using Apple CP with Qobuz. I really like the features of Apple CP, just plug the phone in and it works.

I always assumed a couple of the pins on the connector passed an analog signal. -

The Newer Apple Earbuds plug into the Lightning jack and receive an analog signal. -

I'm using an iPhone X into Carplay streaming Qobuz. I'm wondering if the signal is analog or digital. If analog having a better front end would make a difference. If digital you are right it won't matter. Since Carplay is considered a pass through I am wondering if the lightning connector is passing analog similar to the way it does when using the 3.5 mm jack adaptor for the lightning output. -
Android Play in a car compatible with an Android OS in DAP

Does anyone have experience using an Android based DAP in a car with Android play? If so What DAP are using? Thank You. -
I have been using an Onkyo DP-S1 to play FLAC files in my auto via an analog in 3.5 mm aux jack. My new 2021 Vehicle does not have an analog in and I don't think many current car models do. It has Bluetooth, Apple Play and it does play FLAC files via USB but the DAC in the car is not very good. Using Apple Play and Qobuz is far superior and may be my only option. My DP-S1 does have Bluetooth aptX HD but does not connect with the cars system. Can anyone recommend a DAP with Bluetooth aptX HD that works with car stereo systems? Has anyone in a similar situation found a work-around? Does Apple Play with a Hi-Rez streaming service sound better than Hi-Rez via Bluetooth? An answer to any of these questions would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much.

The Matrix is just a converter, consider it part of ultraRendu. My ultraDigital dose not show up in GUI.

if the Matrix is connected to the ultraRendu select Network option.

You need a SPDIF converter, like the Sonore ultraDigital. The ultraDigital will give you SPDIF via coax or I2s via HDMI if you have a DAC that supports that format.

I noticed at the Small green computer site they are offering an external CD drive for ripping CD's to FLAC. It says no software required. I assume any CD drive would work. Has anyone tried this?
