  1. Apparently, The activation process doesn't like Internet explorer. Downloaded chrome and was able to get an activation key. But...after optimizing this 2nd boot partition of W10 pro, boot up times are longer and the OS acts very strange and slow for the first 5 minutes. The apps (Roon and HQPlayer, I.E., ect) on the task bar show up, then disappear then show up for several minutes. I can't open file explorer or the start menu for first 5 min or so. This doesn't feel anything like my CAPS Zuma with WS2012 optimized. Anyone have any ideas?
  2. I'm trying to activate my W10 machine to run AO and when I go to the activation website the browser just says "Checking your browser before accessing high-end-audio-can.com". It says please allow up to 5 secs but nothing happens in even 5 minutes time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  3. Yes, I have right clicked on RoonServer in system tray and selected Start automatically. I verified that it automatically starts in GUI mode then switched to minimal server mode, ran AO, checked after each step and no RoonServer.
  4. Right clicking Roon icon in system tray only works for GUI mode. RoonServer does not start in minimal server mode which is a big bummer! Using service tool to set HQPlayer as shell is easy, but if RoonServer is not running already it's worthless to have HQP as shell. A few clarifying points: 1.) not sure why anyone would want to set RoonServer as shell? RoonServer does not have a shell...it runs in the background always. Roon, on the other hand, has a GUI. 2.) I use Roon with HQP and HQP's NAA. The reason I need HQP to be set as shell is that sometimes my NAA hiccups and I need to reset parameters on HQP...my DAC does not switch automatically between DSD and PCM. 3.) because I use an NAA, I'm assuming reducing noise in the main computer won't make much of a difference. I was interested in running RoonServer and HQP in minimal server mode to lower the overall load on the PC while HQP does heavy computational up sampling to DSD256 or DSD512.
  5. Roonserver as shell doesn't do anything for me. I need Roonserver running and HQPlayer as shell. I know how to get HQPlayer set up as shell, but do not know how to have Roonserver start automatically on boot? I'll try tboooe's suggestion I guess...putting RoonServer in the Start folder did not work in Minimal Server mode.
  6. Upgraded to AO2.00. Thanks, Phil. I cannot figure out how to automatically start RoonServer on startup and set shell as HQPlayer in Minimal Server. I've re-read these threads looking for the answer and I've tried adding a shortcut to RoonServer.exe in the Start folder (this works in GUI mode). Can anyone help, please. Thanks!
  7. Received my urendu today...been playing in NAA mode (DOP128) for a couple of hours using Uptone power supply at 7V into my Lampy Big7. Sounds comparable at this point to my CAPS Zuma running WS2012 with AO in core as an NAA, up sampled to native DSD256. However, on about 2 out of every 3 songs, I get a hard stutter. With the CAPS as NAA passing Quad DSD (DSD256), I can't recall having a single stutter. So it's not the HQPlayer computer (quad core i7, 3.8GHz) and I doubt it is my network given the above. Any ideas?
  8. I haven't received my tracking info yet...I ordered within a couple of hours of the early email. When did you order?
  9. Phil - hope you are well. I am patiently waiting for 2.0 release (didn't feel I could devote the proper attention to be worthy of beta testing given work and life demands right now), however, given some of the beta highlights, I think my current plan on how I will use it is not covered. I currently use Roonserver on a W10 office computer, along with HQPlayer on the same machine, and stream to a Linux NAA in my music room. I would like to use my CAPSv3 Zuma, running WS2012 Essentials in core with Roonserver and HQPlayer streaming to same Linux NAA. To do so, Roonserver needs to be started on power up and HQPlayer needs to be the shell replacement (in case the NAA is not seen or settings are incorrect) I see Roonserver is supported as shell replacement, but Roonserver is a headless appliance so that seems not to be of value? Can you have 2.0 start Roonserver and have HQPlayer be the shell replacement? Thanks, Jordan
  10. More importantly...when will orders start to be fulfilled?
  11. Very fair price, Jesus. Count me in. Thoughts on when/if it will support native DSD to an Amanero USB input on LampizatOr DAC?
  12. Yes, I use HQPlayer on a fast i7 computer in my office and a small Nuc running Linux and Jussi's NAA.
  13. It is every bit as good as "they" say. Most DAC's make for relatively subtle, though meaningful, differences...the Lampy was revolutionary from the first note in comparison to my Luxman DA-06. Back to thread...I'm currently using a lightweight Linux Nuc as NAA, so limited to DSD128 DoP. Would really like to believe the microrendu will be able to overcome this limitation.
