  1. Hi to all. Its been awhile since my last post and boy am I confused again. I am building a second semi silent music and home theater pc. This question involves the selection of sound cards and the decoding of Hd from blu ray. I am going to stick with the asus line of cards. So my choices are, asus essence St pci card, asus essence hdav St pci card, asus pci 1.3 slim, and asus hdav extension card for pci. Question 1. Several web sellers of the asus cards refer to the availability of the asus hdav essence St pci card, but I can not find mention of this card even from the asus web site. there is about a 15 dollar difference in price between the two essence listed pci cards, see ncix.com. So what if any is the difference between the two? 2 I know that I need to purchase a 6 channel daughter card to go with either of the pci versions of the essence cards. Will these two cards working together decode hd audio from my plextor internal bluray. and send the signals out by the rca connectors on the back of the 2 sound cards or do I still need a third card the hdav pci 1.3 slim to combine the dvi from my video card and the audio to a blended hdmi signal? Thanks in advance to everyone.
  2. Hi. These questions are for any one who has built their own TNN computer. Zalman supplies little blue anodized aluminum cylinders which are fixed to the back of the motherboard with preapplied adhesive. Can these cylinders be reused or do I have to order more of these cylinders evey time I mess with the motherboard. 2nd. Is their an easy and cheaper way of testing the silent power supply. Internet chatter seems to indicate potential problems with the zalman psu. I would hate to fry a new motherboard on startup. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Thanks for the help. Both of us were sick for a week. Me with the flu, and my pc with a virus. I ordered a lynx SRC card last week from Montreal. The card should arrive in Windsor sometime next week. Boy the exchange rate really sucks. Ouch.
  4. Hi everyone. I am putting together a silent pc based on a Zalman tnn 300. The lynx AES 16 is the reccomended soundcard. Looking at the lynx website it seems that for a little more money the lynx AES 16 SRC is available. The feature that I find interesting is the cards ability to up sample any bit rate to High Rez. Does anyone have any opinions or experience with this specific card. Thanks.
