  1. I get white noise and clicks either at the end or start of tracks on wav or flac files.  Long shot but if you have any album content or metadata in the file this might be causing your problem.

Thanks, but my problem is only with dsf files without any metadata.

Fryderck is alive and well. Sure he is only a young fella! He is very busy in 'real' life issues. Job, home etc. hence he has had very little time to spend on development over the last while. I am sure if he gets free time he might implement some more work on WTFPLAY. But it is fairly well developed as is. Don't forget he spent I think nearly three years on and off working on this. On the home forum we have met up very infrequently this year and Fryderck didn't get to hear the comparison between computer and sd player when we did actually meet up. That might influence him!

Yes using it on both systems. SDPlayer appears to be gaining traction and at a few listening sessions people have preferred the SDplayer. Too much of a pita for me.

As outlined by Pearse(Sligolad) the new version of WTFP is another big leap. Fryderck keeps working away on this incrementally improving it all the time. As outlined by Pearse above Norton working on the power supply brings big improvements. Really you have to decide how far you want to go and if you have the skills required for some of the more difficult stuff. Try the tirnahifi forum and specifically the computer audio section. Tons of info there but maybe hard to get through it all! If you can at least get pico supply for your PC and try and incorporate linear supply and better still batteries(lifepo4). Paul Pang use to do mobo's with outboard clocks but I think he has stopped it now probably due to mobo failures. I had a board with two outboard clocks done by Nige2000 but it is sick at the moment! Hopefully not terminally. I think though with WTFP if you can get as far as picoless with linear you will be most of the way there in terms of power supply. Don't forget Intona or JKRegen for the USB.

He is on various forums and not from Ireland but living in Ireland and is also on tirnahifi. A variety of people on tirnahifi did beta testing but I think Fryderck had others on different forums also but that you will have to ask him that yourself

Slow burner Pearse. Funny best bit of free music software with well written instructions but looks like it will take time to fly. For anybody using jplay, mqn etc who believe the player has an impact this is the player to try.
  7. Wow what a surprise to see Jriver posting here. On an amateur thread for a minimal music player. Well said Nigel +1
  8. Chris I have worked with a lot of techies over the years and the trade off between all that brain power and intellect is the ability to put foot in mouth on occasion. I recognise it and make allowances when a person who has obviously invested a huge amount of time and effort developing something reacts with slightly either inappropriate or as you call it unprofessional comments. To my mind you cherish what these people bring to the table and do your best to work with them. That is how the world progresses. Nothing might come of MQn or it may go on to be a very successful player. If I was in your shoes I would prefer to see it develop and grow on this site.
  9. Very disappointing Chris, I have followed a number of threads on the CA forum and used your formula for zuma build. Many thanks for all the stuff you have helped promote over the years. But you are very wrong in accepting the opinions of unnamed people who are suggesting people are making fake claims about this basic player. It does question the impartiality of the site and yourself. Like any other CA product I have been introduced to it is generally from friends or from information gleaned on forums. I can assure you my positive comments on this player relate to my personal experience of listening to it and comparing it to my current player. Any of the people I know who have posted on this forum relating to MQn do so only out of enjoyment of the product. There is no agenda. Sbgk has rightly just left as I would if approached in the manner you have taken against him on foot of allegations made by unnamed people. Just to be very clear if you have think the contrary please contact me by pm I will happily supply you personal contact details to allow you conduct your investigations. I don't even know the guys name and where he actually lives and I doubt if any of the other people posting here do either. I think it is too late to save this thread on CA unless you can somehow persuade Sbgk othewise. Maybe you might try out the player and report your findings? If you are a true independent CA advocate you would be making every effort to get this thread back operating. Rgds Tony
  10. maybe the metrum octave is the way to go but wont give up hope yet.
  11. Try posting on pfm forum that is messy! Really hoping we could get to try hires on JKCiúnas dacs but my limited understanding is we need 24bit control and play to make that happen.Otherwise we have to drool at Pearse's dac.
  12. Apologises cvrle59 comment was aimed at Sligolad's meitner and tongue in cheek.
  13. Yes Sbgk it is that horrible dac! You need to concentrate on the 24 bit version for us poor folk!
  14. If it is not too much effort sbgk? A few guys on another forum expressed interest in trying but they seem to have amd processors. This is not for me all my processors are intel based.
