  1. Hey guys, I just did installed the new Lightning DS Update that became available today for my iPhone and have since lost access to all of my music. When I try to set it back up and hit the "mount" option it tells me "the IP Address of network shared folder is incorrect". I don't know how to find the IP Address, nor do I even see a spot to put it in my iPhone. Has anyone else had this issue or have any ideas what I can do to fix it? Thanks
  2. Thanks for the replys, I've got a REGEN on order now, should be here Wednesday. I'll have to report my findings when I've tried it for a bit
  3. Interesting, well guess I'll give it a try then, price is certainly reasonable enough if there is a significant improvement
  4. Anyone tried one with the Schiit Yggdrasil? Just curious if there any improvements to be had by using the REGEN
  5. Thanks for the reply. I was just looking at the REGEN you were talking about, looks like a Jitterbug type USB cleaning device or whatever they are called. I had read Jason @ Schiit has said you don't need one of these types of devices with the Yggy because the USB implementation is top notch so I am thinking that wouldn't provide any improvements in my particular setup, but it sounds like the SBooster would.
  6. Yes, thanks, I actually read that article and that is what got me interested in the SBooster. Unfortunately the review reads like an advertisement more than an objective review so I was just wondering if anyone has had a chance to hear them side by side and could say if it's worth the additional cost. Also, if using the Aries Mini to output to an external DAC, is the improvement really that noticeable?
  7. Hi, just wondering what people are using as an LPS for the Aries Mini? I am looking at buying one and I've narrowed it down to the Auralic LPS or SBooster BOTW w/ Ultra, just wondering if anyone has had the chance to compare the two, I'll probably go with whichever one sounds better but the SBooster is almost twice the price as the Auralic LPS so I figured I'd ask. As info, I am using the Aries Mini as a streamer with my NAS, output via USB to a Schiit Yggdrasil DAC and into my headphone amp. Thanks in advance for the recommendations.
  8. If I can figure it out, I guarantee you can too. It literally walks you through every step of setup. Believe me I was nervous about it too, but it's really quite simple and intuitive to set up.
  9. Seems interesting but I thought the goal was to get the PC out of the audio chain. To be honest I was a bit disappointed because TONE Audio said this would change the way we think of digital media but it basically looks like JRiver with links to the AMG built in. When is the planned iPhone support for this going to be available. Really don't want to have to purchase a computer or an iPad on top of buying this software to use in my listening room.
  10. I enjoyed this review but am still confused as to whether or not I would even be able to use this product. I had wanted to purchase it some time ago when it was first released but never quite understood how it would work in my setup. Perhaps someone could help me decide if this product would work for me. I plan to use it as part of a headphone setup in my den, but I don't have access to an ethernet port in that room. My internet speeds are pretty slow due to an old router (802.11b) so I don't think wireless would be an option either. I've considered using a Hard Drive, but as I download a lot of music, I wouldn't want to have to keep transfering new music to it everytime I downloaded something. Are there any other options or is there a way to make it work with what I've got. Also, I don't have an iPad, but I do own an iPhone, will that work with the Aries too?
  11. Yes, unfortunately there is a horrible screeching noise on just about every other song...oh wait that's just Yoko In all seriousness, I think it it the best version I have heard yet, if you can stomach her singing. I think it got a DR score of 11 too, but it sounds great to my ears, in fact all of the new John Lennon releases do. I am looking forward to my favorite Lennon album though that comes out tomorrow, Plastic Ono Band.
  12. Yeah I live in black hole apparently when in comes to hi-fi, I'm in virginia beach, VA so I guess my closest dealer is New York. Looks like they have a ton of dealers in the New York / New Jersey area but not much representation in the southern states.
  13. Does anyone know where I can buy one from a dealer with a good return policy? I was going to order from Acoustic Sounds but I see they have a 20% restocking fee for non defective returns. I really don't want to be out $320 if I am unable to get this thing set up or worse find out that it's incompatible with the rest of my system.
  14. Ted_b and bplexico, just wanted to thank you guys for your expert advice. After giving it some more thought, I think I will do what you both suggested and run my PC with JRiver as the server, with the intention of upgrading to the synology down the road since I bought a 4 TB NAS and I've already got over 3 TB of data on it, guess I didn't plan too well when I bought it. My only concern with the synology when I looked at them before is they looked a little complicated, and seemed to be geared toward hi end users or businesses and the Western Digital seemed to be aimed at beginners like me (who still can't even figure it out . Do you think the synology is something I would be able to figure out and if so which do you recommend, their website has like 50 different options and I don't know the difference between them. Thanks again.
