  1. When you say it doesn't come close to E-MU 0204 or 0404 - do you mean feature wise or sound quality wise? I just noted that it was a simple dedicated box as some posts had commented there was a market for such. Indeed I am looking for a good tool to help digitise my vinyl. I have been using VinylStudio and a macbook air - but currently only have some low cost external Pinnacle (I think) USB audio adaptor (came with Steinberg vinyl archiving bundle of some sort many years ago) to take sound from the phono stage to the mac. Results have shown the potential of recording vinyl but before I go through the very lengthy task of digitising all those albums I want to - I am interested to know what is out there that will give better results and at what sort of cost. I would like to record at 24/96 as this seems to me the best balance of sound quality and space requirement for my purposes. The E-MU has great reviews and is a good price but the amount of negative reviews about driver issues and lack of support have put me off so far or it would be a no-brainer. Although I am currently using a mac, space is limited and I have a small Windows 7 laptop I could dedicate to this task which is why the drivers are a potential issue. I also have PC version of VinylStudio and when I have tried recording to this with current USB audio adaptor I get horrible background noises I do not get with the mac which is another reason to look for an alternative. If you have a phono amp or amp with line-out as I do, can you get a signal straight into VinylStudio and will it convert ADC there? Or is an external card still the best quality option? Many thanks
  2. Has anyone tried the following? - High Resolution Technologies - LineStreamer + the Linestreamer seems like a simple box aimed at audiophile community specifically for recording vinyl or other analogue sources.
