Hello all. I'm new here. I live in Guangzhou, China, and have recently become somewhat excited about building a new system for my (home) office.
I have access to all the wonderful whacky world of Shenzhen hifi and was wondering if I could enlist your help a bit. However, I'm also on a budget.
To kick off, has anyone seen Clapr? It seems to be a very cheap (free as in beer) way to get a basic room accoustic measurement. Here on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.seeth.clapir&hl=en
It appears to be able to measure your rooms frequency response. Rather imperfectly, but still it does it.
Would this be enough for a simple EQ approach to DRC? Rather than creating a complex filter I could perhaps just use it to do a relatively basic equalisation by hand?
And then the next thing.
I found this: ÀÊÔÏÊý×Ö¹¦·ÅºÍµçÄÔÁ¬½Ó¹¤¾ß°å-ÌÔ±¦Íø which seems to be a way to actually CHANGE THE WAY A DIGITAL AMPLIFIER PROCESSES THE DATA STREAM. Which sounds like magic to me, and perfect since I'll be building the system around a full digital amplifier. Has anyone heard of this kind of thing? Does anyone recognize those screen shots?
Looking forward to your responses!
