  1. I am running 2 separate computers into the Musichall DAC 25.3 than to a pair of audioengine 5+. On one computers I have a xonar essence STX SC with digital out to the Digital Coaxial in on the DAC. This gives me a good sound. On Computer 2 I am running USB out to USB on DAC. Which sound good as well until I switch to computer one than back to computer 2 I hear static. Only on computer plugged in from USB to DAC. If I unplug USB from back of DAC and plug back in it sounds great again from files played in Computer 2. I spoke to someone at Musichall and they suggested it my be a driver problem. The computer was a custom build using Windows 7 Home Premium The Motherboard is a ASUS [h=1]P8Z77-V LX LGA 1155 Intel Z77. Any Suggestions?? TY David[/h]
  2. Any suggestions to download lossless Old Time Music ie: Charley Patton, Uncle Dave Macon. Looking for 1920's and Depression era Country and Blues. HDtracks doesn't have much. Thank you in advance!!! David
  3. The reason I am adding the DAC is: For years I was using a non computer traditional system. Rotel amp and recieciever, DAC in a box and Vandersteen 1b's. When I moved north from North NJ to Update NY I wanted to go small so I sold my system and was playing music off the PC with cheap creative speaker or listening thru a pair of Shure SRH840 Headphones. Well I got the bug and purchased a pair of audioengine a5+ (i know i could have done better with more research). Long story short I called the guy in NJ who helped set up my system 15 years ago and he recommended the Musichall DAC. So now I have opened a can of worms and caught the "audiophile" bug and will probably drive myself crazy trying to get better sound out these toys!! Thank you for listening!! David
  4. I guess I could consolidate but I am use to using 2 computers. The one on the left is mostly used for gaming, video and streaming music over the internet ie: Sirus/xm. The PC on the right is used to play stored audio files and check emails. Part of the reason I have 2 PC is I build one with a Clarksdale chip. When intel came out with the Ivy Bridge chip I had some extra cash and felt like building a new rig. Now I am a newbie to setting up a dedicated music server. But based on what little bit I am learning is I will be going in that direction but hope to learn more before I commit to that project. Thank you!! David If you think it would help I would be happy to list my rigs and advise for configuration.
  5. Great Idea!! Will give it a test!! TY David
  6. Hi; New to DAC with Computers I just purchased a Music Hall DAC 25.3 which I plan to run 2 PC's in to one set of speakers. On one PC I have a Asus Xonar STX SC on the other PC Xonar DGX Sc. Now my question should I keep those soundcards in those PC or if there is no need with the DAC I was thinking of selling them? Thanks in advance!! David
