1. Nonsense. Mcintosh has been acquired several times over the years. Mitt Romney's outfit Bain Capital bought in the late 90s or early 2000s. Japanese firm owned it before that. It'll still be Mcintosh

 3. Well outside the price you really can't say anything negative about it until you hear it.
 4. Dac has tube output stage and solid state. One box design. https://www.mcintoshlabs.com/products/new-products/MCD12000
 5. I'm seriously thinking about buying a pair after reading all the reviews. And I'm fortunate to live only 40 minutes from a PSB dealer. Here's a review from Mark Henninger over at the AVS forum. Conclusion After spending lots of quality time with the Imagine T3s, the conclusion is obvious: Until another speaker comes along that ups the ante, these PSBs represent the pinnacle of audio fidelity that I’ve experienced in my home. No other speaker I’ve reviewed provides as complete a package in terms of performance and aesthetics. The cost of the Imagine T3 towers is probably out of reach for audio enthusiasts on a limited budget. However, in my opinion, they represent a solid long-term investment; they truly are endgame speakers. If you buy a pair, it’s likely you’ll never need to upgrade again. https://www.avsforum.com/psb-imagine-t3-tower-speakers-review/ The John Atkinson review in Stereophile is equally positive. ConclusionsWhile more expensive than its predecessor, the Synchrony One, PSB's Imagine T3 offers superb sound quality for what is still a relatively affordable price. To improve on its combination of full frequency-range sound, clarity, and neutrality, you would need to spend almost three times as much. It is also a beautiful piece of audio furniture. https://www.stereophile.com/content/psb-imagine-t3-loudspeaker#x78JZ7U6RwV6RE7k.99 In my home office I'm using PSB T Tower with a McIntosh MA5200 integrated amp and it's a fantastic combination. At 2100.00 the T Towers are a fanatic buy!
 6. I've had mine for 3 weeks and it is amazing. Stereoplay a German magazine review it last spring and here's what caught my eye! "At the very latest, the proverbially serious suspicion in the room is that McIntosh might have set the bar higher with this new device than the potential competitors from his own product range might be fond of. For us it is certainly true: this is the best McIntosh we have ever had before our eyes." "The D1100 is the sound surprise even with "simple" 16-bit / 44-kHz data, which is probably the best news to the newcomer. This is highly recommended as a pure DAC and as a preamplifier simply fantastic." ' i''m stunned how good simple internet radio sounds playing through Sonos.. It is an amazing DAC. Hooked up the C1100 it's Mcintosh at its very BEST.!
 7. The above is from Kal Rubinson of Stereophile on another forum. I can't figure out to space on this forum. I hit enter and nothing happens.

Post by Kal Rubinson April 22, 2013 (5 of 22) reply | reply with quote | report

Claude said: Some SACD players can output DSD over HDMI, but there is no DAC with DSD-capable HDMI input. There are, of course, DSD-capable HDMI inputs can be found on various prepros and AVRs, many of which are able to convert the signals to analog without PCM intermediary. Of course, some SACD players will do this, too, obviating the need for a DAC. Also, I have heard rumors that the NAD M51 DAC may soon play DSD via its HDMI input.

9. The M51 does not process stereo DSD streams from SACD and DVDA players. It is designed to process PCM digital audio streams. I hope this information is helpful. Thank you, From NAD
 10. Not yet, but from what I've read, in the future the M51 with a firmware update will play DSD.
