  1. No problem. I am attempting DIY isolation for at least some of my components and wondered whether there had been any new thoughts or tweaks in the ensuing years. There don't seem to be too many new ideas out there, unless you know of any.
  2. I visit this site almost daily, but I don't post unless I have a question or feel that I have something to contribute. Is that ok?
  3. No CO2. Unless I flat. I am primarily interested in the width of the tubes you pneumatic-savants are using. I'd like to avoid breaking out the bike pump every other day...
  4. Thanks. Road tubes aren't robust and tend not to hold air as long as larger tubes, at least in my experience.
  5. Yes, I will use bearings, too to address the lateral vibrations. I intend to set components directly atop them or upon a platform, based on what I hear and prefer. The bearing assemblies will sit atop a platform supported by the semi-inflated tube, as I believe has been recommended.
  6. Hello everyone. I'm brushing the cobwebs from this old thread, as I'm undertaking a DIY isolation project, using pneumatic and roller-bearing iso per Barry's and your ideas. I have the bearing component part figured out, but as far as a tube, I'd like to know what size, type and brand of tube you use. I cycle and have several thin racing/road tubes, but I'm guessing that something more substantial is required, such as a tube for leisure or mountain bikes or even perhaps for lawn equipment? And what psi have you found achieves the best results (sonically and mainenance-wise) works best with the particular tube type for your system? Many thanks to everyone.
  7. Stereo version from HDT. It's definitely worth it.
  8. LCD Soundsystem - Shut Up and Play the Hits Bill Evans Trio - Waltz for Debbie (sound of dinnerware, and all) Peter Gabriel - Plays Live Bruce Cockburn - Live Joe Jackson - Big World (Recorded live under controlled conditions. Has all of the energy of a live recording, but without crowd interference)
