  1. The idea is to send the music from Chrome to an UPNP server. To do that, I use a virtual cable on my windows machine. I think on Linux, it's easier to redirect the audio stream to the UPNP server
  2. Hello, I am able to send music from Chrome to any UPNP renderer - on a windows machine, sound is ok - on a linux machine via Pulseaudio but the sound is not HiFI, let's say Mid-FI I thought that with GentooPlayer that would be possible to optimise something
  3. My bad, I should have explained more clearly. I use GentooPleayer as a server and my renderer is a separate box. So my problem remain the same. Do you think it would be possible to set an option in GP for it to act as an UPNP server ?
  4. Thanks. Just tried but I have no idea on how to send the music from Chrome to my Airplay renderer. Could you please help ?
  5. Before I go ahead to crash my hard disk with Gentooplayer with xfce, could you please confirm that Gentooplayer can broadcast with Shairport so I can use it with my hifi renderer ?
  6. Deezer plugin in LMS is limited to mp3 and Deezer does not want to update the API to allow lossless/flac I can try Shairport/Airplay but I'm not sure it would be as good as UPNP
  7. Hello, Just thought about an alternative as the Deezer app may be a bit tricky to implement : redirect the sound from the webbrowser to UPNP, that would be usable with Deezer, Qobuz, Youtube or whatever. I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy it. I tend to use Deezer as my only source, that would be brilliant
  8. Deezer has nothing to do with Qobuz, 2 different companies like Tidal and Spotify. Not sure if that would be sufficient, here what I found for linux : for Archlinux : https://github.com/SibrenVasse/deezer https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/deezer/ For Ubuntu (looks weird) https://nuvola.tiliado.eu/app/deezer/ubuntu/bionic/
  9. Hello, That's great, I will try the xfce version. Is there any chance you can add Deezer in it ? From my perspective, Deezer is a lot more user friendly than Qobuz
  10. That’s because I’d like to use it with a power amp with no preamp and I think it’s too risky to use the software volume control. On the top of that, it’s clearly more user friendly to play with a remote control
  11. I was thinking about an usb dongle like this one https://www.amazon.fr/Dongle-infrarouge-FLIRC-Center-Raspberry/dp/B01NBRBWS6/ref=asc_df_B01NBRBWS6/
  12. Hi Antonello/Filippo, Is there a way, we/you can add LIRC to the rpi4 version to move up/down the volume via a remote control ? thanks
  13. Hello a web-interface is a great idea either for configuration (ex: squeezlite as before) or regular maintenance (power off, ram in cache, update) or both (configuration and maintenance) . my preference would be « maintenance « or both. cheers
  14. Hi All, A quick update about sound quality. Believe me or not, Raspi4 gives a better sound than Raspi3 in my Metrum Ambre. Sound is more opened, powerful, and refined. Ok that is not by a large step but for the raspi4 price, it is CLEARLY worth the hassle.
  15. Hi All, Filippo solved the issue for me and now my rpi4 sings beautifully with Gentooplayer. One thing to check now is to know if the rpi4 sounds better than the rpi3 with more horsepower. Will share later
