  1. Hello! I'm in need of some desperate help. I hope I don't ramble on but im trying to provide the most information I have. Setup: 2014 Mac mini running Monterey using ROON ...connected via USB to AYRE DSD. Initial problem started a few months back. I started getting a static output through my speakers but eventually it would play fine. This took maybe 10min or so. Eventually it stopped working all together. I run a tube pre amp and thought maybe I had a bad tube or something. Turned everything off...disconnected all cables and reconnected them, then turned everything back on. No Luck The AYRE will display 44 when music is playing from ROON but no output. Tried swapping USB cable from Mac to DAC. No Luck. Swapped out preamps. No luck. My turntable plays fine through both preamps. Tried to play just from iTunes to take ROON out of the equation. No luck. Tried connecting to my laptop to take the Mac mini out of the equation. No luck. Possible the output on the DAC is bad? Thanks in advance.
  2. Hello. For the past several years I have been using a 2009 Mac Mini with a linear power supply I bought used as a package deal. It’s fantastic. About a year or two I started using Roon and really enjoy it. Previously I was using Ammara. I have upgraded the OS to Snow Leopard and Roon no longer works. I just purchased a used 2014 Mac Mini and wondering if it’s possible to just change to the cord from my old LPS to work with the 2014 Mac Mimi or do I just need to look for a LPS for the 2014. The LPS I have for the 2009 has no markings on it so I have no idea what brand it is. Any suggestions are appreciated.
  3. Eric. That worked like a charm! Thanks for the help!
  4. No. I have only connected it to the the AE in my music room. I was thinking I should try that and eliminate the chain so I could atleast see if the network could see it that way. I will give it a shot when I get home. Thanks.
  5. Hello. New guy here. Im looking for help in setting up my new Microrendu. My setup. I have a CenturyLink Modem/Router connected to the recommended Powerline adapter on the Sonore website. In my music room I have the the other Powerline adapter connected to the WAN port on my Airport Extreme and the rendu connected to a LAN port on the airport extreme (brand new). When I go to the sonicorbiter.com it shows "No music servers found". If I connect my laptop (MBP) into the same port on the AE I am able to get internet access and page load pretty fast. What am I missing? Also, I have another Airport Extreme (about 4 years old, the flat model not the tower) for wifi in the house. Note: Im using the Sonore power supply and the light is on.
  6. @Superdad, when you say the 2010, 2011 minis are better than 2009 were/are you using a linear power supply?
  7. Interesting. I have a Core Audio setup with their external P.S. using Amarra 2.5.1. I recently upgraded Amarra to 2.6 but it sounded too bright in my system so I re-installed 2.5.1. I want to upgrade to Mavericks and try the 2.6 again. Looks like I will have to look into upgrading the machine then to do that. I assume you are using a 2011? What software are you using? Thank you for your help.
  8. I'm running Amarra 2.5.1. Recently upgraded to the 2.6 but it sounded too bright to me in my system. I hear 2.6 runs better with Mavericks.
  9. I have a late 2009 MacMini running 10.6.8 with 4gb presently for my music server. I'm thinking about upgrading to 8gb which I have heard is possible but curious if anyone has done this. Is it worth it if I'm not running Mavericks.
  10. I wouldn't think so either but was just curious. Doesn't hurt to try and just uninstall it if it does. Thanks.
  11. I have a Mac Mini with SSD installed connected to a Firewire Hard Drive that I recently picked up used and have it setup in a dedicated listening room. I also have a SONOS system through out the house with speakers in different rooms. I want to install the SONOS app/software on my Mac Mini system to be able to also play the music on my SONOS system throughout the house. My question is, if I add the SONOS app to the the Mac will it have any negative effects on the quality of sound in the dedicated room. This is my first system I'm putting together but as I understand it the more programs/processes you can have disabled on the Mac the better the quality of sound. Any thoughts, comments, and suggestions would be appreciated.
  12. Anyone using this cable with Mac mini and Arye QB9 with any luck? I bought a used one and it wont communicate and the previous owner had no issues with it. Any thoughts??
  13. I have been playing with The Real VNC and Moca lite...but it just dosen't seam to work they way I would think. I cant scrool with Moca and the VNC the way I would think. Is there an option for a one time fee for Splashtop? I only see the free and two different options for monthly fee.
