  1. The capacitor has an impact regardless the source used to feed the SMS200. I have used Panasonic FC, 3900 uF

    Pure Music 1.8

I have installed PM 1.8 2 days ago. In my system it is the best player I have used, by a large margin . Best soundstage and sound coherence.

  4. Given the fact that the original HiFace and HiFace EVO do not support non-mixable integer mode, I do not see how the JK version of HiFace would .
  5. I too prefer the non-upsampled version . Can anyone with working integer mode tell me the difference between integer mode playback enabled and disabled (sound wise) ? Thank you.
  6. Hi Qualiton, Even if the "integer mode" option is activated in the preferences, it does not mean that it is active. Look in the the debug info (Audirvana menu) during playback. You will find the active playback mode at the top of the list. (Integer mode or float) .
  7. Hmm, I thought that the USB interface on that DAC would be HiFace based. If the integer mode works on your DAC, this would mean that is has a different interface, or at least a different driver. Odd.
  8. I would give up any added functionality if it affected the sound quality. SQ is my top priority . Congratulations to Damien for his achievement ! I think that it would be nice if we could make a list of integer-mode compatible devices (DACs and USB interfaces) . Regards, Bogdan.
  9. @damien: Well, I have missed that option, thank you for enlightening me . It was exactly what I needed. So, finally I've been able to use Audirvana in my system with upsampling (prior to this I used upsampling only with my headphones) . I can say that I prefer Apple Core Audio to SSRC, but in the end my DAC gives best results with no upsampling in software. I get better spatial information, better timbral integrity and slightly better low-end without upsampling. Probably because my DAC (EmmLabs DCC2 SE) upsamples the signal anyway to MDAT. What asynchron USB-SPDIF interface would be able to accept integer mode operation ? Audiophilleo? Offramp 4 ? Thank you, Bogdan.
  10. First I want to salute everyone. This in my first post here even if I've been lurking around for some time now . Then I would like to thank Damien for a great piece of software. In my system I prefer it to Decibel and Amarra . However, I do have some questions regarding Integer Mode: - the integer option is checked in the preferences, but the symbol on the "CD Player" display is not active, so I think that it is not. This is true for both onboard sound (2010 MBP 2.66, 4GB) and USB/SPDIF interface - HiFace . Am I missing something ? The other problem is with the up-sampling: I would really appreciate if the up-sampling was selectable 2x or 4x, because the SPDIF interface is 192kHz capable, but my DAC accepts maximum 96kHz (or DSD) . Edit: OS 10.6.7
