  1. The only HiRez Zappa I can think of is the "Halloween" dvd, which is rather good, circa 1978 I think.
  2. Have you by chance done a DR of "SITKOL" Blu-ray? I agree it sounds boosted, I mentioned this over st SH Forum but got no response. Evidently SW has always had possession of the master tapes, so I'm guessing all remasters are using copies of some sort.
  3. A wasted opportunity with "SEBTP". I asked Universal why they could not use the original mixes rather than the latest travesties, but apparently they only issue what they are given. I fail to understand what is 'pure' about this title. I guess I'll be sticking with my beautiful 24/96 vinyl 'drop.
  4. I agree the HD25-1 IIs are fantastic, wonder how this aluminium version compares sonically, in the real world.
  5. Having just done a three way shoot out featuring 'none of the above' I am preferring the dvd-a over Polydor Original and 2003 SACD (and redbook). Still can't find anything about the sources used for the 2013 issues.
  6. There's yet another cd release this month, can't find any info on sonic provenance though.
  7. Just a quick bump to verify the sonic excellence if this HDtracks version
  8. ...form Quboz only at the moment I believe, any comments? Thanks.
  9. Yes. The production, especially drum sound, is vastly different from the last album and to me doesn't have the same projection for MM's intricate playing, nor do I think that musically or melodically it is as strong either, although the first instrumental is superb. However, on the whole, the HDtracks 24/96 download is excellent, very crankable and listenable, worth every cent.
